Number 9
Stefan Bruinsma (17-08-1982), a.k.a. Number 9, was born and raised in the north of the Netherlands in a city called Groningen. At the age of 9 he discovered music was his passion, and he took his first piano lessons shortly followed by his first guitar lessons. After developing as a musician he encountered people that shared his vision on making music and performing on stage. At the age of 18 he chose the Rockacademy in Tilburg to develop as an artist and entrepreneur in the music industry. Up till now his life resulted in the following music projects:
Grupo Fantasma
Grupo Fantasma is an eleven-piece latin funk orchestra from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2000 from the merger of two austin acts, The Blue Noise Band and The Blimp, the band emerged with a sold out show at the former Empanada Parlour in Austin. The band is best known for their exuberant live shows and their recent association with Prince and his 3121 Club in Las Vegas. The band has backed Prince on numerous occasions, including his performance on the ALMA Awards in 2007, and often perform at his afterparty jam sessions. The ensemble has sold more than 20,000 albums independently.
Mozez
His album THE ABSOLUTE due for release 2012.
Mozez is perhaps best known as the singer for the British down tempo group Zero 7.
His first major break came in 1996 as part of the duo Spirits, which brought hits that included ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’ and ‘Spirit Inside’.
He was recruited by Zero 7 and worked on their first two albums, ‘Simple Things’ and ‘When It Falls’. His debut solo album ‘So Still’ came out in October 2005, a soulful album that became an international success working with Madonna producer Guy Sigsworth, and collaborations with Nightmares On Wax and Henry Binns of Zero 7.
