Telex

There are three bands with the name Telex: 1. The Belgian synthpop group Telex was formed in 1978 by Marc Moulin, Dan Lacksman and Michel Moers, with the intention of "Making something really European, different from rock, without guitar - and the idea was electronic music." (Marc Moulin) Mixing the aesthetics of disco, punk and experimental electronic music, they released a stripped-down synthesized cover version of "Twist à St. Tropez" by Les Chats Sauvages.

A loner throughout his teenage years, he was passionate about literature and music from a young age. After completing high school he studied humanities for a year while holding a range of odd jobs, including a spell as a utility man for an FM radio station in Nantes, where his family lived.

She was discovered on the TV show L'École des fans in 1980. She recorded her first single La Magie des surprises-parties in 1985. Although it was not a hit, it paved the way for the song with which she would become internationally famous - "Joe le taxi" in 1987, while she was still only 14 years old.

The Maladies Of Bellafontaine

In January 2006 a coquettish little Welsh girl and her swarthy Spanish lover rustled up a blueprint which appeared to provide a solution to the world’s insipid musical malaise. Acoustic assistance was required and so the pair hopped atop the nearest hillside, bellowing to the heavens their request for likeminded hairy helpers. The clarion call was responded to by a quartet of tousled troubadours and The Maladies of Bellafontaine were forged.

La Grand Sophie, born July 18, 1969 in Thionville, is a French singer songwriter who started her career in the mid 90's alternative Parisian music scene. She grew up in Port-de-Bouc near Marseilles. She created "kitchen music," which she describes as "a mid 90's movement that sees little difference between musical activity and other daily tasks."
