Thomas Mapfumo (born 1945 in Marondera, Zimbabwe) is a Zimbabwean musician known as "The Lion of Zimbabwe" for his immense popularity and for the political influence he wields through his music. Pre-Independence, his songs openly called for the violent overthrow of the government, with lyrics like "Mothers, send your sons to war." Since the white government didn't understand Shona, however, at first they didn't realize how radical the songs were.
Meeting in late 2009 in Nelson, New Zealand, Dave Crowe and Andy Balcon carried their beatbox blues around the world as street musicians ever since. UK born singer-songwriter Andy Balcon spent 2011 based in Gothenberg, Sweden working on his Debut release EP Self titled Andy Balcon Band, set for physical release late 2012. While working closely with Samuraj Cities Guitarist Jonathon Doe, BaLcon Brought to life the songs which illustrated his travels and experiences of life on the road.
Snake & Jet's Amazing Bullet Band is a indie rock band from Denmark consisting of Thor Rasmussen og Thomas Frederiksen. When playing live, the duo is expanded to a trio adding Laura Ratschau on bass. Snake & Jet's sound has elements of blues, rock, punk and synthpop all with a retro vibe. On their earlier releases their music was centered arouond a Hammond Organ and guitar, but their latest release, Stuff That Rotates sees the duo adding more vocals while diminishing the earlier importance of the organ.

Dashboard Confessional was started in 2000, by Chris Carrabba in Boca Raton, Florida, as a side project from his band Further Seems Forever. Chris recorded his first album, The Swiss Army Romance, in 2000. The following year, he recorded Further Seems Forever's debut album The Moon Is Down. However, he left the band soon after the album's release, instead recording and releasing his sophomore album The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, as well as a follow-up EP titled So Impossible.
