Texas Is the Reason was a post-hardcore band founded by former Shelter guitarist Norm Arenas and 108 drummer Chris Daly in 1994. A foundational quartet in the post-Sunny Day Real Estate movement of emo music, Texas Is the Reason played melodious but forceful rock music before disbanding in 1997. Norm Arenas (guitar), guitarist for the hardcore Hare Krishna band Shelter, formed Texas Is the Reason with friend and then fellow Hare Krishna devotee Chris Daly (drums), formerly of the band 108, which played music of a similar kind to Shelter's, some time in the early 1990s in New York City.

Sebastian Melmoth, are a contemporary experimental rock band from London, UK. They formed in Spring 2006 as a three-piece garage band, and went through several incarnations before finally stripping down to its two founding members: Mandi Taylor (vocals/guitar) and Elijah Rogatchevski (vocals/guitar). The band name is a 'lyrical ode' to Victorian playwright Oscar Wilde, who went by the pseudonym of Sebastian Melmoth after his release from prison in 1897.

The band was re-started, in 2003, with new lineup. Originally, Jean-Marc recruited guitarist Guy Florent and bassist Jean-Pierre Brie for the band, who were originally known as Checkpoint Charlie before settling on the name The Box. After a 15-year hiatus the band released their fifth album, the progressive-rock flavored "Black Dog There" on Komfy-Universal.
