French Toast

FRENCH TOAST is a band that does a lot with a little. Formed by James Canty and Jerry Busher in 2001, it still just relies on two humans to mix the sounds of guitars, keyboards, drum kit, various percussion, samplers and sequencers with personal and haunting lyrics. FRENCH TOAST BAND: James Canty, Jerry Busher, Ben Gilligan play all instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, sampler, and trumpet.

Siiiii

Siiiii were born in early 1983 when singer Paul, then only 19, moved from his native East Anglia to Sheffield purely to be in the band, joining guitarist Mark, and bassist Ange. Taking their name from William Burroughs' "The Soft Machine" they gigged extensively during the early to mid 1980's and possibly hold the record for the amount of times they were nearly signed to record labels. Siiiii disbanded in 1986 and the members went their separate ways. Mark went on to play with the Anti-Group and Paul became involved in The Niceville Tampa (now Niceville) and then DVO in South Wales.

The Clean

The Clean were an influential band that formed in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1978, inspired by punk filtering through to the relatively isolated New Zealand, as well as the classic '60s influences. Led through a number of early rotating line-ups by brothers Hamish and David Kilgour, the band settled down to the well-known line-up with bassist Robert Scott. Early incarnations of the Clean included Peter Gutteridge, later of the Chills, Snapper and others, and who wrote "Point That Thing"...

Jarboe

Jarboe (full name: Jarboe La Salle Devereaux - also known as The Living Jarboe) is an American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist. She came to prominence in the mid-1980s as a member of New York City based group Swans. With founder Michael Gira, the duo was the core of the group until its disbandment in 1998. She continues to release numerous solo albums and collaborations.

Gyroscope

There are two bands with the name Gyroscope. The first is a / band from Perth, Western Australia formed in 1997 by Daniel Sanders (vocals, guitar), Zoran Trivic (guitar), Brad Campbell (bass), and Rob Nassif (drums). They recorded their first demo cassette, First, as Gyroscope Sunday in 1998, and took up playing regularly on the Perth live circuit whilst also finding time for work and school commitments. The second is a psychedelic jazz outfit from Quebec, Canada.

Martin L. Gore

Martin Lee Gore (born July 23, 1961 in Dagenham, Essex, England) a member of the band Depeche Mode since its inception in 1980. He is currently the primary songwriter, and also plays keyboard and guitar. He is also the backup singer, and sometimes the lead singer. In 2003, Martin released Counterfeit2, a solo cover album follow-up to his 1989 Counterfeit EP. Both feature his takes on other people's material, and he has stated publicly before that he considers himself not the most prolific songwriter, and prefers to keep his own material for Depeche Mode albums.

Radio Stars

Formed in the Seventies, and disbanded before the end of that decade for dental reasons, Radio Stars emerged from the tail-end of glam to seize the punk reins with abandon, albeit without the po-faced rigidity of their peers. Writer/bassist Martin Gordon was in Sparks during the Kimono My House era, and then formed Jet with former John’s Children singer Andy Ellison. Jet became Radio Stars, and their first Radio Stars single ‘Dirty Pictures’ was championed by John Peel; their first EP, inspired by Germans and entitled ‘Stop It’...
