The Fret

The Fret are an alternative and independent band from the Leeds DIY scene in Northern England and have been making music since 1999. Not a band for feeling the need to adapt to suit a popular style, The Fret consciously change songwriting styles for each track, each band member contributing their own personality while retaining the overall message. John Butler was there at the very beginning on lead vocals and lead guitar. Rik Stewart (ex-Cakey Face/ UNSEEN FLAME) joined the band in August 2007 on bass. October 2009 saw the final change in line-up to Ben Taylor on drums.

Danny Cope

Born at the tender age of 0, Danny beat his twin brother out into 'the world' to join his older brother & Mum 'n' Dad in the sunny dreamland that is Romford, Essex. Having a Euphonium playing Dad and a music teacher for a Mum, it wasn't long before Danny was mastering the recorder. However, he soon gave it up to pursue Graphic Design (which was and still is his Dad's real job). This pursuit carried on till after A-Levels when Danny decided that being a Graphic Designer was going to be too competitive - so he went for a more realistic career path - being a bass player and songwriter.
