James Murphy

There are two musicians named James Murphy.
1) James Murphy (born 1970, raised in Princeton Junction, New Jersey) is a musician, producer, deejay, and co-founder of dance-punk label DFA Records. His most well-known musical project is LCD Soundsystem, who first gained attention with its first single, "Losing My Edge", in 2002 before releasing a self-titled album in February 2005 to critical acclaim and top 20 success in the UK.

Orianthi

Orianthi Panagaris (born 22 January 1985), better known simply as Orianthi, is a Greek Australian musician, singer-songwriter and guitarist. She is perhaps best known for being Michael Jackson's lead guitarist for his ill-fated "This Is It" concert series, and as the lead guitarist in Alice Cooper's live band. Her debut single "According To You" peaked at #3 in Japan, #8 in Australia and #17 in the US; her second album, "Believe", received a worldwide release in late 2009.

The Aristocrats

There are at least three artists under this name. A Prog Rock Trio, an Indie Rock band from New Zealand, and a Classic Soul Group. #1) The Aristocrats are a prog rock group that has been compared to Cream, because of how equally the members contribute to their sound. The members are guitarist Guthrie Govan, bassist Bryan Beller, and drummer Marco Minnemann. The band was almost formed by accident, when the members discovered how well they worked together while jamming.

Joe Stump

Joe Stump is an American guitarist and composer. His style is similar to Yngwie Malmsteen's neo-classical metal. He released albums with his band, Reign of Terror and also as a solo artist. Stump is a professional shredder, and Guitar One Magazine voted him 6th position among the Top 10 fastest shredders of all time. Joe has taught for many years at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He also has a guitar instructional DVD lisenced under Berklee Music. Stump endorses and uses ESP Guitars, Marshall amplifiers and Rhino amplifiers.

Popa Chubby

Popa Chubby (Theodore Joseph Horowitz, born 31. March 1960 in New York) is a New York blues singer and guitar player. His angry and aggressive style of blues is influenced heavily by Willie Dixon. Like Jerry Lewis, he is more popular in France than the U.S. Popa Chubby is a true native son of the Big Apple. He was born in the Bronx and grew up in a neighborhood made famous by Robert De Niro in the movie A Bronx Tale.

Jennifer Batten

Jennifer Batten is a guitarist who first received word-of-mouth attention that eventually led guitar magazines to take notice of her highly original approach to the electric guitar. On Guitar Player Monthly's premier compilation CD, John Stix wrote, "It was Jennifer's version of John Coltrane's "Giant Steps" that was considered by her peers the "scariest and most requested cut on the disc." At one point Batten was in six different bands playing many genres including rock, metal, fusion and funk.

Joscho Stephan

Joscho Stephan is a German gypsy jazz guitarist. Hailed as a prodigy he is currenty one of, if not the best, guitarist of his style at the moment. Heavily influenced by the likes of Django Reinhardt and Chet Atkins, Stephan's music is a mixture of slow melodic jazz and fast, jolly gypsy music. Throughout his music Stephan's incredible skill and technique can be heard from his vibrato to his incredible runs up and down the guitar neck.

Antonio Forcione

It has been said that Antonio Forcione is "probably the best acoustic guitar player in the world" ; he is certainly up there with Tommy Emmanuel in terms of technique and sheer musical eloquence, his playing shares the same fire, passion and inspiration, though Forcione tends towards more jazz (especially gypsy style) and south American influenced styles of playing. Forcione originally studied percussion, before switching to the guitar.

Andy James

Andy James is an electric guitarist from Norfolk, UK. He is perhaps best known as a regular contributor to "Lick Library", a dealer of guitar tuition videos, books and cds, where James specialises in teaching lead techniques for heavy rock and metal. Aside from this, James has also recorded solo albums In the Wake of Chaos, Machine and Andy James and is a member of the band Sacred Mother Tongue. In his solo recordings Andy exhibits a predominant influence of Joe Satriani as well as other comparable guitar legends.
