Joel Plaskett
Joel Plaskett is a Canadian rock musician who has been a longtime favourite on campus radio charts throughout the country. He was a member of the Halifax based alternative rock band Thrush Hermit from its founding in 1992 until its breakup in late 1999. Joel was the lead singer and guitar player for the group. He was also the band's primary songwriter. After the breakup of Thrush Hermit, Plaskett embarked on a solo career.
Justin Townes Earle
Justin Earle comes from good stock... His father (legendary and ground-breaking singer/songwriter Steve Earle) must have taught him well. But don't be so quick to compare him to his father. Whatever he may have learned from his old man, he continues to prove himself as an individual- always forging his own path no matter where the others are going. Maybe that is the most important lesson he learned from his father (as well as being the main thing they have in common artistically). Aside from that, you must speak a different language when discussing Justin Earle.
El Toro
By their first, short nine months together, El Toro! had already achieved the impressive feat of launching the beginning of a promisingly innovative career. Within a year of their conception they had independently released the Dot Dot Dot Ex E.P., the El Rancho Del Oro E.P., and the La Rosa E.P., toured most of the East Coast and Mid-West, and signed to the rising indie record company, Undecided Records , which Revolver Magazine covered in its October 2004 issue.
