There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Generic were a British hardcore anarcho punk band who played melodic style of hardcore punk utilizing a wide aspect of influences and musical styles from grindcore similar passages to informative sections to plain hardcore punk.
Being a band of conviction, their lyrics deal with everything from the apartheid regime in South Africa to coca cola's destruction of workers rights in south america to apathy and lack of interest among punks and people in general.

The Dead

There are at least four bands using the name "The Dead": *American; rock, jamband genres: The Dead, also known as the Other Ones, are a North American rock band composed of former members of the Grateful Dead. After the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann formed a band called The Other Ones. They performed concert tours in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and released one album, The Strange Remain. In 2003, they changed their name to The Dead.

Monitors

1. Monitors was a no wave/noise rock band from Warrensburg, Missouri between 2004 and 2007. They released Geology (self) in 2005, Buller 3" (Lona Records) in 2006, Business + Party business card singles in 2006, and a split with Chicago's KK Rampage as part of DNT Records' 2007 3" split series. 2. Monitors were a Milwaukee electro punk band from the future The Monitors were a group based in Brisbane, Australia featuring Gayle and Gillian Blakeney of television show Neighbours fame. In 1979, they released the hit single "Singing in the 80s".

23 Skidoo

23 Skidoo cross , , , , and elements. The band had interests in martial arts, and drumming, Fela Kuti, The Last Poets, William S. Burroughs, as well as the emerging confluence of industrial music, and funk. 23 Skidoo was formed in North London, UK in 1979 as a post-punk trio. By 1980 they had grown into a quartet consisting of Fritz Catlin, Johnny Turnbull, Sam Mills and Patrick Griffiths.

Eat

(For the punk rock band see: The Eat) Clearly, there are 3 different bands called "Eat" on this page. So don't just listen to Crossroads & check out the other snippets. The English one, were a London based led by singer Ange Dolittle, who started out as a band devoted to the sound of Louisiana. Their Debut album Sell Me A God (Fiction, 1989),line up, along with Dolittle was Peter Howard on drums, Tim Sewell on Bass, Paul Noble on guitar & lyrics & Max Noble on guitar.
A second album was recorded, a single released from it called Psycho couch, but the album never saw the light of day.

Axemen

The Axemen is a New Zealand band formed around 1981 in protest against the South African Springbok rugby team tour of New Zealand, a tour which created great controversy, especially as was in contradiction to New Zealand’s obligations under the Gleneagles Agreement. The Axemen played in Chch Cathedral 1981 in response to the Springbok tour. They also played at the protests for homosexual law reform in 1983, with member Little Stevie McCabe being severely beaten up in the Cathedral Square, Christchurch, toilets.
