The Divide

There are 3 bands with the name The Divide: 1) The Divide - United Kingdom. Daniel Furniss aka The Divide always was a dreamer. Born in Leeds in 1981 it was at the tender age of ten he first became interested in rhythm by meticulously dissecting his growing collection of acid house cassettes. Five years on and he finds his true calling in the middle of a damp and dark rave-floor at the UK’s infamous Helter Skelter Technodrome.

Daisy has been together in this form since 1999, when Matti Ikonen (keyboards) joined the group. As soon as he joined, after about 6 gigs, Thomas (vocals, guitar) left for England to study. This brought the band to a near standstill for three years.

Dione

Dione a.k.a. Erik Ypma started DJ'ing at the end of the 80's at a youth centre. He organized parties at Bubbles in Lelystad and started a radio program at a local station. His first productions were released at Rams Horn Records/5th Gear and appeared on over 50 cd's. His (award-winning) radioshow, "Hakkuh" at New Dance Radio, became Holland's most populair hardcore programme. He started producing and DJ'ing for ID&T (Mysteryland, Thunderdome, Earthquake etc.) Dione played in Finland, Letland, Estland, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Hungary and Holland.

Sandy Warez

The serious start of Sandy comes in 1995, there is a club called “La Grange (Charente Maritime France)” that offers him a residency, he spins there every day from June to September 1995.

During this event he meets David Duriez (private la Grange resident).
From October to November 1995 they start to work together on an hardcore project which has been released on a label in Antwerp called ZOMBIE Records in January 1996.
Meanwhile Sandy has another residency in a club called Café Face, which is also owned by the chief of “La Grange”.

Chris Liebing

Chris Liebing had his first residency as a DJ in a small club called "Red Brick" 1991 in Giessen, near Frankfurt. Already in the beginning of 1995 the club had to close down and Chris began working for Eye-Q Records in Frankfurt. During that period, he met his friend and partner Andre Walter. Together they started to build up a studio and work on music. In November 1995, Chris had a chance to play at the OMEN in Frankfurt and shortly after became resident DJ. About a year later, influenced by his DJ'ing, he created "Fine Audio Recordings" together with Under Cover Music Group.

Known as the '3 deck master', 'the human Ableton' and 'the machine', Ben Sims had his first decks at age ten. Schooled on mix tapes by the likes of Bambaata, DJ Cheese and Froggy, and with his musical roots in reggae, funk, disco, electro, rare groove and hip-hop, by his mid teens he was spinning at after-hours 'blues' houses and a few years later came the acid house explosion with pirate radio and clubs.
