Stojche

Stojche is one of the names on the European circuit that is broadening the scope on the underground house today. Hailing straight from the Macedonia, he makes some of most downright tech and deep house music around right now. Stojche Cvetanovski grew up listening and playing techno in the capital city of Skopje, went on to run parties and clubs and from there moved to producing, developing his own take on the modern sound of underground house, a sound that is distilled perfectly into dj sets.

Chicago born and bred Melvin Oliphant aka Traxx is known for constructing the "jakbeat" sound -- "a turbo-charged take on old school acid and Chicago house for the '00s put together with the unmistakeable tones of classic analogue gear such as the TR-909, TR-808, and, of course, the TB-303". Traxx himself talking about this phenomenon:

Joachim Garraud

Joachim Garraud (born in 1968 at Nantes) is a french DJ. Producer and remixer of David Guetta, Geyster, Paul Johnson, Deep Dish, David Bowie, OMD, Kylie Minogue, Mylene Farmer, Cassius, Belamour, Kid Vicious and Saffron Hill, he is an essential actor of the european House scene. He is also co-fondator of Gum Prod, Square Prod and Gum Records. One of his particularity who made his fame is to mix sound and video in same time in live with a Pioneer DVJX1 Professional DVD Turntable. His podcast "Zemixx" is one of the most downloaded of Itunes Store, ranked #1 many times in 2006.

Himan

Himan (Julien Lacroix) was born in France in 1985 and is a DJ / Producer of electronic music. Influenced by the French House of the late 90’s and early 00’s that dominated the music scene in France, he is also inspired by disco, funk and eighties culture. At the age of thirteen, Stardust’s release of “Music Sounds Better With You” began his fascination with music styles composed of samples and filtered loops.

Tanghetto

Tanghetto is a Buenos Aires-based band that focuses its material in the combination of Argentine tango with electronic music, jazz and other musical genres. The “Tanghetto sound” is rather unique; it's a fusion of diverse sources of inspiration, both contemporary and traditional, that converge in Buenos Aires with the bandoneon (the nostalgic and characteristic instrument of the tango). Bandoneon takes the singer's role and is surrounded by diverse acoustic instruments and a sonic wall of synths and samplers.

Alix Alvarez

Born and raised in The Bronx, NYC this humble cat has been making waves in the music game for quite sometime. Nourished on vinyl selections of disco, soul and salsa by his parents in his formative years, Alix was conditioned to be a musical mastermind at an early age.

Rising house DJ and producer ATFC - aka 28-year-old Aydin Hasirci - has emerged as the latest addition to the list of famous Old Skoolers. The OSN was first tipped off about Hasirci's Bournemouth Uni roots by IDJ magazine's Music Editor, Matt Anniss - himself an Old Skooler. And after further investigation, the OSN can confirm Anniss' tip-off to be spot on. Hasirci, whose moniker stands for Aydin The Funki Chile, has been spinning vinyl for around fourteen years and owns his own sound production company, Onephatdeeva Productions.
