Dave Angel

Born in Chelsea, the son of a Jazz musician, Dave Angel’s first musical instrument (appropriately) was a drum at the noisy age of eight.
Not one for conforming, even at the early age, Angel spent little time in school, preferring truancy to chemistry and the music room to the classroom. 1988 and the explosion of acid house in London and the rest of the country seemed to be the major break for Angel, who at the time was pioneering this unbelievable new sound on radio Phaze One.

Well, for starters he is a producer, musician, imaginary friend, DJ, singer, writer, visualist, record label boss and to some people, the uncrowned King of hooligan house, but let’s start at the beginning. Don Diablo’s musical journey kicked off at the age of fifteen, when he started making music for short movies he was directing.

Drunken Balordi

Sometime back in the last century, when punk music was still dangerous, visionary and urban poet Jeff King left his home town of Dublin to travel across Europe, guitar over his shoulder, moving from country to country, busking, drinking and tasting the wines and women before he paused for a rest in Bologna, Italy. He lived there for seven years, playing in various punk bands before moving again, this time to London, with a head full of ideas and a notebook full of drunken ramblings. It was here that the story of the international mongrel gypsy punk rockers ‘Drunken Balordi’ begins.
