Manuel Barrueco

Manuel Barrueco is recognized internationally as a leading figure in the guitar world today. His artistry has been continually described as that of a superb instrumentalist and an elegant musician, possessing a seductive sound and uncommon lyrical gifts. His international tours take him to some of the most important musical centers in the world each season. Recent appearances have included New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Copenhagen, Athens, Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Manuel Barrueco also has completed nine tours of Japan.

The Tea Party

The Tea Party is a Canadian rock band from Windsor, Ontario, with blues, progressive rock and Middle Eastern influences who formed in 1990 and disbanded in October 2005. They reformed in 2011 to play some shows in Canada. They have released seven albums commercially during their time together. Guitarist and vocalist Jeff Martin, who has perfect pitch, was also producer for almost all of their albums.

Alim and his 21 year old daughter Fargana Qasimov have recorded three albums of Mugham music together. He has performed in France, the United Kingdom., Germany, Belgium, Spain, Brazil, Iran and the United States.

With origins in France’s popular art form of street performance over 18 years ago, this Angers-based sextet has developed a very unified sound, reflecting their communal culture. Their performances incorporate the disparate influences of Tuaregs, talking drums, chanson, gypsy fiddle, and Caribbean groove. Theirs is truly traditional music in a modern context. Instruments include piano, harmonium, soprano sax, bass, kora(2,) drum set, violin, accordion, and djembe. They frequently tour with the Tuareg group from Mali, Tinariwen.
