Baauer

Brooklyn-based Baauer is a 22-year-old DJ/producer who makes house music that sounds like hip-hop.Released yesterday on Mad Decent imprint Jeffrees, Harlem Shake is a bamboozling combination of sonar synths and snares, woven together with a lion’s roar sample and warped vocals urging you to “Do the Harlem Shake.” It’s practically screaming for someone to rap over it–just imagine A$AP Rocky’s sugary flow or Azealia Banks’ gunfire rhymes on top of this one. Accompanying Harlem Shake is the marimba-driven “Yaow!” a beat so tropical it makes sense that Diplo is a fan.

There are two artists with this name: 1. The Trap, a comedy sketch troupe composed of Jeremy Limb, Paul Litchfield and Dan Mersh An almost weekly podcast in released by The Trap. 'Possibly the most important 40-odd minutes of your life.' Now available from the iTunes Store! 2.The 'Trap were to be found in and around E8, East London. But it all started in a sleazy club night in Sheffield. A showdown of rock bitches, lipstick lesbians and weeping mascara as a Bold Street connection brought the two together.

Flosstradamus

Flosstradamus is a Chicago DJ Duo consisting of J2K (Josh Young) and DJ Autobot (Curt Cameruci). They gained popularity building mashups out of well known songs, while maintaining a consistent dance flow, making them dance hall masters and quick local favorites. But they don't start nor do they stop with the mashup. They are cunning tricksters of the booty shake, playing whatever will make people get off the seat and step to the beat.

Michael Render, better known by his stage name Killer Mike (born April 20, 1975) is an American rapper, signed to Grind Time Official through the SMC/Fontana Distribution. He made his debut appearance on "Snappin' and Trappin'" on OutKast's 2000 LP Stankonia, and also appeared on the Grammy-winning song, "The Whole World", the single from OutKast's greatest hits album Big Boi and Dre Present...OutKast. He was featured in the movies 20 Funerals, Idlewild, and ATL.

Newcomer Indian Wells may only have one track on his SoundCloud page and may have just dropped a very limited release (only 100 copies printed, artwork above) via DIY label Bad Panda, but the producer already seems to know exactly what he's doing. Sounding something like a blend of Shlohmo's lo-fi textures and Actress' gritty techno mantras, Deuce exhibits the shadowy aesthetics, crunchy beats, and brooding soundscapes that make Indian Wells' tunes something to take notice of. Footwork is a local trio comprised of Taylor Wingett (Secondary), Myke Pelly (Haunted Horses), and James Scheall (Wet Paint DMM, Half Gift). Their sound is—perhaps unsurprisingly—not unlike a weird, mutant hybrid of Haunted Horses’ grand guignol and Wet Paint DMM’s singularly clanging brutality. The bass and guitar shriek, stab, and throb with the distorted angularity of German Expressionism...
