Dr. Strangely Strange

Dr. Strangely Strange were an experimental Irish folk group formed in Dublin in 1967 by Tim Booth (vocals and guitar) and Ivan Pawle (bass and keyboards).
Soon they teamed with multi-instrumentalist Tim Goulding (vocals and keyboards), an aspiring painter, and began living and rehearsing in a house owned by Goulding's girlfriend, backing vocalist Orphan Annie, which its tenants nicknamed "The Orphanage.

Plankton Wat

Plankton Wat is the solo sound world of Dewey Mahood, founding guitarist of Eternal Tapestry. Playing modern guitar soli inspired by the tradition of Fahey and Basho, and contemporary players Richard Bishop and Makoto Kawabata. Beginning as a home recording project in 2001, Mahood has slowly built a collection of highly personal music that has filtered out into the underground via tape labels such as Stunned, Digitalis, and Sloow.

Kim Doo Soo (???) is a modern Korean folk musician, who was only famous in deep underground scene. But in recent years, his 4th. album "Free Spirit" gained high expectation, and became more & more famous. His vocal & music style are very unique.

Spirogyra

Spirogyra were an English folk/prog band that recorded three albums between 1971 and 1973. Martin Cockerham (vocals/guitar) and Mark Francis originally formed Spirogyra as a duo in Bolton, Lancashire in the summer of 1967. When Martin went to University in Canterbury in 1969 he expanded the band to include fellow students Barbara Gaskin (vocals), Steve Borrill (bass), and Julian Cusack (violin). They were soon spotted by student union entertainments officer Max Hole, who offered to manage them and got them a deal with B&C Records.

Kan Mikami

Kan Mikami (三上寛) takes much of his inspiration from the school of singer/songwriters and blues vocalists. From the rural district of Tsugaru, Mikami's parched voice and plaintive electric guitar (sometimes the only backing) reveals the true spirit of the folkish sad blues, even though he sings in Japanese. Of course, comparisons to Muddy Waters or Howlin' Wolf are just as far from the truth as Bertolt Brecht or Jacques Brel, but the guitarist weaves elements of all three to create an undeniably unique style.

The group consists of Kawabata Makoto who is obsessed with troubadours and the music of their birthplace Occitan, and Tsuyama Atsushi who is frighteningly knowledgeable about European trad and the good old rock of the 60's and 70's. Tsuyama, on the one hand, played in a duo with Yoshida Fumio (Si-Folk), Japan's most respected player of Irish traditional music...
