LEKIDDO

LEKIDDO - Many Are Called...
A mix of humour, dancefloor aspiration and theatrical sensibility. LEKIDDO bravely grabs attention with scats, barks and lyrical lines, backed by beats and analogue sounds. A blast of invigorating freshness. - Keith Ames, Musicians Union.

Dirt Farmer

There are at least two bands who perform under the name Dirt Farmer (1)Dirt Farmer is a rock band based out of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Roll up your swag. Dust off your denim. Burn your banjos and start a rock and roll band. That’s what Dirt Farmer have done. Hailing from Albury-Wodonga, the five-piece band have relocated to Melbourne. Formed in April 2010, brothers Stuart and Thomas Barlow, with friends Chris Wright, Nic Duplex and Patch Oram, met in high school and united over musical tastes.

A.Human

A.Human hail from the Dalston area of London. They tell stories about love, the damned, the strange and everything in-between. Vintage keyboards punctuate soaring triggered samples while rolling drums form an epic backdrop to wry and amusing lyrics. They draw influence from the disco soul of DFA and thoughtful dance music of New Order through to the art school originality of Talking Heads and lo-fi electronica of Arthur Russell. Their universally highly praised live performances are as chaotic and unpredictable as they are refreshingly thrilling and engaging.

Real People

There is a least to REAL PEOPLE: 1).
Though young, Zach Condon (Beirut) has already released a few albums. He recorded under the name, "Real People" when he was 15, which was an electronic record admittedly fashioned after his love of The Magnetic Fields. 2). Jazzband Real People.
Line-up:
Anders Mogensen (dr)
Rudresh Mahanthappa (alt sax)
Kasper Tranberg (tr)
Jacob Anderskov (pi)
Carlo DeRosa (bs) latest release on Black Out Music in 2008.

Adventure

Adventure is 24 year-old North Carolina native and recent Baltimore transplant Benny Boeldt. His ultra-melodic synth compositions pull from his earliest exposure to the 16-bit soundtracks of the Sega Genesis video game catalog. But it's not just retro video game music. Mix in the kitschy Moogy sound of Hot Butter's "Popcorn", the saturated disco-theatrics of late seventies electro-pop acts like Sparks and Yellow Magic Orchestra, and a penchant for Eastern European diminished scales and you've come pretty close to Adventure's accelerated baroque sound.

Artist Type:

Rubikon

[1] Rubikon is hard rock band from Zagreb, Croatia. http://www.rubikon-band.com/
[2] RUBIKON is an exciting new electro pop band. The duo brings together, Huw Williams and Tiff Lacey, for the first time. Both have already established strong electronica credentials, with chart-topping hits. Tiff Lacey is particularly known from tracks with ATB, Paul Oakenfold and Flash Brothers - with #1's on dance charts all over the world.

Artist Type:

K-X-P

K-X-P is a groundbreaking rock trio consisting of Timo Kaukolampi and Tuomo Puranen of Op:l Bastards fame and Anssi Nykänen, a weathered session drummer. The main reference of their hypnotic music is krautrock from 40 years back, but they do throw in a few afrobeat rhythms, ominously cinematic keyboard sound walls, hippy Middle Eastern melodies and some dancey pulse. Kaukolampi’s idiosyncratic singing style has been sorely missed, although it comes only in small doses this time. Here and there you can also make out the distant breathy vocals of Norwegian pop princess Annie.
