Amelia Curran

Amelia Curran is a Canadian singer-songwriter. She was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and currently lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The National Post describes her music as “a bit like Leonard Cohen being channeled in a dusty saloon by Patsy Cline.” Curran started playing guitar and writing songs as a teenager and eventually dropped out of university in order to busk on the streets of St. John’s. That led to her first album release in 2000, and since then she has released four more.

Dead Ghosts

Dead Ghosts are a four-piece garage rock and/or roll band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Rauchy lo-fi recording style, country-esque vibes, "sweet guitar pluck-and-jangle," driving rhythms, and the occasional Back From The Grave feel is the basic make up of their songs. To get another idea of their sound, they've gotten comparisons to namely the bands the Black Lips and King Khan & BBQ Show.

Baba Brinkman

Baba Brinkman began his rap career at nineteen, freestyling and writing songs in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada.
During his development as an MC he also completed both a B.A. with Honours from Simon Fraser University and an M.A. in Medieval and Renaissance English Literature from the University of Victoria. His thesis drew parallels between the worlds of rap music and literary poetry. In the summer of 2004, Baba toured his hit theatre show, "The Rap Canterbury Tales" to seven cities around the world, including Prague, Montreal, Edinburgh and San Francisco.

Tom and Liza are the Wind Whistles and they live together in the suburbs of Vancouver, Canada. As an indie folk duo they both sing and both play acoustic instruments (guitar,bass). Jully Black (born Jully Ann Inderia Gordon on November 8, 1979 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian R&B singer of Jamaican heritage, and was brought up in the notorious Jane and Finch area of Toronto. Her given name is pronounced "JOO-lee". Black had a Top 40 hit on the Canadian charts in 1998 with "Rally'n". She has collaborated and written for many notable artists, including Nas, Missy Elliott, Saukrates, Choclair, Kardinal Offishall, Destiny's Child and Sean Paul. She has had subsequent hits with singles such as "You Changed" and "Between Me and U".

Sam Roberts

Sam Roberts is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, based in Montreal, Quebec. His 2001 debut release, The Inhuman Condition became one of the bestselling independent releases in Quebec and Canadian music history. Born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, he attended Loyola High School and McGill University. Roberts formed the band William in 1993. The band's name was changed to Northstar in 1996. Although the band gained some notice in independent rock circles, they couldn't break through to a national audience, and broke up in the late 1990s.
