1.) Compelling Sydney two-piece, The Fumes burst onto the scene in 2004. The Fumes deliver multi-facetted stylistic raw blues tunes mashed with healthy rock riffs and snappy beats. Steve Merry (Vocals, Guitar) spent 12 months in the U.S where he took on some mentoring from Bob Brozman and an opportunity to immerse himself with many styles of music. The band found commercial success when their debut album Postcards peaked at #23 on the Australian ARIA albums chart. The band formed in Annandale, Sydney, in 2004. The band started out as a project between lead vocalist Alex Burnett and drummer David Hall. The collaboration between the two wasn't considered serious until Jamie Davis, of British label Ark Recordings, heard their work when here for a friend's wedding.
