Roni Size & Reprazent Facebook Fan Page Reprazent, a Bristol, United Kingdom drum and bass collective, came to national prominence in 1997 when its founder and leader, Ryan Williams, better known as Roni Size, was awarded that year's Mercury Prize. Williams grew up in the Bristol suburb of St. Andrew's and cites Reggae as one of his early influences. He was expelled from school at the age of 16 and started attending house parties run by Bristol mavericks the Wild Bunch (later Massive Attack).

Music has always played a huge part in Hazard's life; his formative years were spent listening to reggae, hip-hop and soul in particular. Although interested by rave music and its culture from its inception, it wasn't until elements of the above mentioned genres began to appear in rave music that Hazard became truly engrossed. After attending only a few raves in the Midlands boasting superstar line-ups playing jungle and drum&bass, Hazard was dead set on becoming a DJ.

A project of recording engineer Jay Burnett ("Burzootie"), whose credits as an engineer include Planet Rock, The Beastie Boys, New Order and The Orb. There is a version of the Drum Machine record on Def Jam (DJ004, 1985), credited to MCA and Burzootie, and another version on his own label, Jayco. Drum Machine is also the name of a novelty song side project of Asher Stuhlman, better known for his roles in local bands Five Zombies and The Floating Head Effect.

DJ Mayhem (Martin Ikin) has been DJ’ing and Producing music since 1990. He has spent the last fifteen years plus, releasing records on many labels under an array of different names, and now has a list of classics under his belt. As well as DJ’ing, Producing and spending some years employed as in-house engineer at recording studios, Martin also studied jazz piano, has been bandleader of several jazz funk outfits and is still gigging, session playing and teaching piano today.

Squarepusher

Born in 1975 (Essex, England), Tom "Squarepusher" Jenkinson can be broadly described as an electronic musician, though he is perhaps best known for his experimental drum'n'bass with a heavy jazz fusion influence. Rising from near-total obscurity to drum'n'bass cause célèbre in the space of a couple of months, Jenkinson released only a pair of EPs and a DJ Food remix for the latter's Refried Food series before securing EP and LP release plans with three different labels.
