Anekdoten

Anekdoten is a Swedish progressive rock band, made up of guitarist/vocalist Nicklas Barker, cellist Anna Sofi Dahlberg, bassist/vocalist Jan Erik Liljeström and drummer Peter Nordins. They are notable for the use of the mellotron and the heavy, trippy sound, dominated by a bass guitar. Their music is associated with the tradition of 1970s progressive rock music, especially King Crimson, but they have also covered songs by Van Der Graaf Generator and Magma in their live performances.

Artist Type:

Martin Barre

As the lead guitarist for Jethro Tull, Martin Barre has been joined at the hip to Ian Anderson since 1969, when he replaced Mick Abrahams in the group's lineup. His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record and in concert amid the beauty of Anderson's melodies and the complexity of his lyrics, and played no small part in helping the veteran band (some would say "dinosaur") win the 1988 Grammy for Best Hard Rock Album for Crest of a Knave. Anderson himself has been quoted as saying, "Without Martin Barre, Jethro Tull could not exist."

Artist Type:

Callisto

There is more than one artist with this name. 1) Callisto is a Finnish experimental metal band (Turku, Finland 2001-present). Trying to fit the post-metal outfit Callisto into one single category hardly does the band justice. Founded in 2001, the sextet play a timeless, downbeat yet melancholic style of music that is rich in nuances, draws from numerous sources and doesn't really have any obvious fellow creatures or points of comparisons.
