Andy Sharrocks & The Smokin' Jackets

Andy Sharrocks was born in Manchester and started playing serious music in punk band Accident On The East Lancs. They released 2 singles We Want It Legalised/Tell Me What Ya Mean and Back End Of Nowhere/Rat Race, and an album Shotguns And Hotshots. One journalist recently suggested The Strokes should record Tell Me What Ya Mean.
On his first solo album Walking In Familiar Footsteps, Andy had no other than ex Rolling Stone Mick Taylor guesting on guitar and Paul Jones from The Blues Band and radio 2 fame guesting on blues harp, with Jeff and Tommy Vee, Bobby Vee's sons on bass and drums.

Two Fingers Of Firewater

Two Fingers Of Firewater are a young five-piece band from the South East, UK, playing original roots influenced music centred around the sound of the pedal steel/mandolin, acoustic guitar and keyboards/accordion. Aside from their weird and wonderful selection of melodic instruments Two Fingers of Firewater are essentially a good old-fashioned rock band. There are, however, strong elements of modern americana and traditional country within their unique sound.

The Be Good Tanyas are an trio with and influences, hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. They play a combination of original and traditional material, and are notable for their lush vocal harmonies. The group features Frazey Ford (guitar, vocals), Samantha Parton (guitar, mandolin, banjo, vocals) and Trish Klein (electric guitar, banjo, harmony vocals). Jolie Holland is a former member and also a frequent guest.

Taking their name from a song title that was used over the years by two of the groups favorite artists, Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash, Johnny 99's coming into being is the classic finding the right combination tale. Jacobson had been trying to start a band since his return to Southern California post-college. By early 2002, Jacobson had met Madsen, and found they had similar musical tastes, and came up with a different angle to form a band - inviting anyone who wanted to come over to an acoustic jam night at Jacobson's house once a week.
