Fields

There are at least 5 bands named Fields: 1) Fields were an Anglo-Icelandic electronic/indie band formed in London comprising Nick Peill (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar/Keyboards), Þórunn Antonía (Vocals/Keyboards/Synths), Henry Spenner (Vocals/Drums), Matty Derham (Bass Guitar) and Jamie Putnam (Electric Guitar). In early 2006 the band played their first live shows. This sparked a furious bidding war amongst UK record companies. They eventually signed a unique deal with Atlantic Records which allows them to keep releasing records through their own Black Lab Records set-up as well as Atlantic.

Flowers

There is more than one group under the name “Flowers”. 1. Flowers was the first name of Australian band Icehouse. In the years 1977-1980 they built a strong reputation in the Sydney pub circuit as a more intelligent, New Wave style band - at some contrast to the two guitars, drum and bass style that was otherwise popular at the time. Their popularity, but difficulty in finding an attractive recording deal, led them to be known as the most the popular band in Sydney without a record. This was finally resolved in 1980 with the release of their debut album.

Men

MEN is a Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective that focuses on the energy of live performance and radical potential of dance music. MEN speaks to issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and demanding liberties through lyrical content and an exciting stage show. The group began in 2007 as the DJ/production/remix team of LE TIGRE members JD Samson and Johanna Fateman. When the duo began to write new songs, it made sense to merge their efforts with JD's other new project HIRSUTE.

You may not know Marla Hansen by name, but there's a good chance you've at least heard-- if not seen-- the talented young lady. As an unassuming but in-demand violist, she's lent her string-pulling skills to the likes of Kanye West (even appearing with the MC on "Saturday Night Live") and Jay-Z (as part of an orchestra that backed Mr. Carter when he did Reasonable Doubt at Radio City Music Hall in June of 2006).
