Nine Black Alps

Nine Black Alps are a post-grunge/indie rock quartet from Manchester, England, named after a line in a Sylvia Plath poem and fronted by Sam Forrest. From their inception in late 2003, the band's energetic live performances earned them a hardcore fanbase after playing for only a few months on the Manchester music scene. In 2004 the band were signed to Island Records and spent the year touring the UK and recording their first studio album with producer Rob Schnapf in Los Angeles.

Sluts of Trust

Since the Sluts of Trust first unleashed their wildly original brand of sleazy rock music to an unsuspecting audience at King Tut's on New Year's Eve 2002, they have become something of a phenomenon in their home town of Glasgow. Comprising John McFarlane's salacious lyrics of sexual combat and skuzzy, roller-coaster guitar-work and the incessant ferocity of Roo Harris' athletic drumming, the band's blistering performances command an immediate and intense response. Following a UK tour and dates in Europe, the band released a limited edition debut single which sold out in a week.

Assembly Now's current three-song demo has been getting airplay by John Kennedy (XFM), Steve Lamacq (Radio One) and Phill Jupitus (BBC 6Music).

Figurines

Figurines is a danish indie rock group with main focus on intense and stripped rock songs. Formed in in the small town of Vestbjerg, Northern Jutland, they lived at a distance to an established music scene, the nearest indie rock bands playing in the town of Aalborg. This is possibly the reason why the band sounds more like American lo-fi like Modest Mouse than the rest of the Danish indie rock acts.

The Vanguard

In order to create the Vanguard, Zeus pinned a gigantic map of the world to the wall in his office. He picked up four golden darts. Blindfolded, he reached for the first dart, drew his hand back and flung it to the map. "Ah I see, the singer shall be from the mountains of Virginia," and so, Aaron Barr was born. Flying through the air, the second dart dropped down in Przemysl, Poland. "How cute, a potato baby will be the guitarist.

Stillman

After the split of his band in the post-Britpop years, Chaz Craik (aka Stillman) took a lengthy detour into producing, engineering and session work. In 2005 he returned to his songwriting roots and self-released The Weightless EP achieving critical acclaim and a record deal. His first album 'People Like a Happy Ending' went on to win 'Best Album' at The Glasswerk New Music Awards 2007. This April he returns with a new album 'Blood Dark Sea' described as 'a layered and sinewy mixture of Elliott Smith, Pink Floyd, The Byrds' and has already received glowing reviews -

The Voronas

From the wrong side of the tracks & heading one way - down and dirty. The Voronas are all about reckless abandon, bohemian hedonism, unapologetic disgrace and songs with monsters, hot men and wild animals. Fusing gypsy-esque riffs with rockabilly, jazz, swing and anything else they care to sling into the pot. With lyrics that seldom have one meaning - apart from something lascivious and racy of course...
