Screeching and squealing out of England with all of the bombast and bravado of their heroes comes HeKz. From hi-octane rockers to long drawn out epics, they'll take you on a journey through all things musical and mythical without losing that much needed sense of fun. With 2 well received EPs (and a 3rd fresh off the press and currently making waves) and a wealth of gigging experience under their collective belt, the band continues to thrive and, in the words of a certain Mr Tony Iommi, "keeps the flag flying!"

Dark Star

There are at least four bands with the name Dark Star:

1. A 70s NWOBHM band.
2. A 90s Space-Rock band.
3. A 90s German Industrial project.
4. A 80s Rap Group from Los Angeles.
1. Formed in 1978, Dark Star are best known for their single 'Lady Of Mars' which was included on the legendary NWOBHM compilation 'Metal For Muthas Volume 2', and was a firm favourite in rock clubs at the time. They released their debut self titled album in 1981, which gave us classic NWOBHM tracks like 'Kaptain Amerika', 'Backstreet Killer' and 'Green Peace'.

Wolfsbane

Cult Tamworth, UK rockers. Before the release of their first album they were highly regarded live performers, but their first album saw little commercial success, oft-attributed to the very flat production. Their later albums saw more favourable press, with their live album Massive Noise Injection being well received. They split up when their singer Blaze Bayley left to join Iron Maiden in 1994.

Cryer

Cryer - A 1980's rock band (as opposed to Metal) from Birmingham, heavily influenced by Deep Purple. Released a self financed single, titled "The Visionary" by the winner of a local radio contest. Broke up, then had an album released under the name "Force" so reformed. Then broke up again. Guitarist Stu now plays in comedy tribute band "Ian The Goat Sings Black sabbath". They are better than the name would suggest. Graham careless now sings in the band bat hat harry www.myspace.

Pagan Altar

Pagan Altar is a doom metal band formed in 1978 in Brockley, England. Alongside Witchfinder General, they are one of the few "NWOBHM" bands to play doom metal. Although they were ignored by mainstream metal media during the early and mid 80s, their influence did not emerge until after the 80s incarnation had broken up. Their gigs were characterized by moody, epic and heavy music interpreted with highly visual stage aspect which accented their interest for occult themes.

Iron Maiden

There are two artists with this name: 1) Iron Maiden is a New Wave of British Heavy Metal band. Formed in London in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, they are one of the most successful and influential bands in the heavy metal genre, selling over 100 million albums worldwide. Iron Maiden has so far released fourteen studio albums, four "best of" compilations, eight live albums and four limited boxed-sets. They won the Ivor Novello Award for international achievement in 2000.

Dumpy's Rusty Nuts

Dumpy's Rusty Nuts first appeared on the London, UK Rock scene in 1981. After a short time DRN released their first single "Just for Kicks" which went into the Heavy Metal charts. This was soon followed by their second single, the now legendary Bikers Anthem "Boxhill or Bust". The success of the singles along with a UK tour with the Blues Band fronted by ex Manfred Mann singer Paul Jones saw that the bands future was secure.

Meanstreak

There are two artists named Meanstreak: 1) Meanstreak is a legendary female thrash metal band from New York, formed in 1985. They recorded one full-length album called "Roadkill", which is considered the best female thrash metal album of all times. Although they never reached world fame, in the circles of thrash metal fans, they earned an status of pure classic.
Meanstreak played some gigs as the supporting act to bands such as Manowar, Overkill, Motörhead, Anthrax, and Dream Theater. Last known lineup:

Colin Towns

Colin Towns was born in 1949. He is one of Britain's most prolific TV and film composers. His list of credits and includes TV dramas such as Cadfael, Pie In The Sky, Between The Lines and Imogen's Face, and films such as Space Truckers (with Dennis Hopper), The Puppet Masters (starring Donald Sutherland) and Captives (starring Tim Roth) In 1976, he joined ex-Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan and stayed through various incarnations of the Gillan Band, co-writing most of the songs on the band's 10 albums until 1983 when Ian Gillan became singer with Black Sabbath.
