Beauty School Dropout

Beauty School Dropout were a pop punk band from Glasgow formed in 1995. During their 6 years together the band toured the UK several times, appeared on various compilations and released a full length album entitled "Teasing the Fat Kids". Before they Split in 2001, 5 new songs were recorded which were to remain shelved for the next 2 years before being released as part of the Boss Tuneage Instant Singles vol 2 CD. Fast forward to the end of 2009 and a brief re-union involving 2.5 rehearsals and a single day in the Studio resulted in 3 new songs being recorded.

Steve Harley

Steve Harley was born as Steven Nice, on 27 February 1951 in South London, growing up in New Cross and attended the school Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College. His musical career began in the late 1960s when he was busking (with John Crocker) and performing his own songs, some of which were later recorded by him and the band. The original Cockney Rebel was formed when Steve hooked up with his former folk partner, John Crocker (fiddle / mandolin / guitar) in 1972. They auditioned drummer Stuart Elliott, bassist Paul Jeffreys, and keyboardist Milton Reame-James.

Their debut album "And the battle is won" was released on October 24th 2005 to rave reviews by the music press (see below). In 2006 the band recorded their first Radio One live session at Maida Vale studios which was broadcast on the Huw Stephens show on March 7th. The band spent most of 2006 recording/writing their 2nd album "Embers" and also had their first U.K tour promoting “And the battle is won. Embers was released on October 6th 2008

There are at least two artists called Maxim: 1) Keith Palmer (born 21 March 1967), best known as Maxim or Maxim Reality, is an MC of the British electronica/rave band The Prodigy. He is known for his fierce style of appearance in both music videos and live shows, often wearing scary contact lenses and kilts. His fierce style is also vibrant in the lyrical sense; in live shows he is known to scream and shout to hype up the audience.
