Ben Foster is a British composer, orchestrator and conductor. He is best known for his work as an orchestrator on the BBC series Doctor Who. Foster also composes music for the BBC drama Torchwood. His work on the show earned him a nomination in the Best Music category at the 2006 and 2007 BAFTA Cymru Awards. Silva Screen Records released a soundtrack album comprised of his work on the first and second series in August/September 2008.
John Ronald Simm (born July 10, 1970 in Leeds, West Yorkshire) is an English actor and musician. He is best known for his role as DI Sam Tyler in the BBC detective drama Life on Mars. He has also recently appeared as the latest incarnation of The Master in the long-running BBC science fiction series Doctor Who.
The BBC National Orchestra of Wales (Welsh: Cerddorfa Genedlaethol Gymreig y BBC) is the only professional symphony orchestra organisation in Wales, occupying a dual role as both a broadcasting orchestra and national orchestra. Murray Gold (born 1969, Portsmouth, England) is a British composer for stage, film, and television. Gold's credits date back to 1996, and some of his better-known work includes music for the television series Queer as Folk, Shameless, Casanova, Vanity Fair and Clocking Off as well as the 2000 film Beautiful Creatures. Since 2005, he has served as musical director for the new series of Doctor Who for the BBC.
Neil Hannon (born November 7, 1970) is a singer and songwriter, best known as the creator and lead member of the orchestral pop group The Divine Comedy. The band's official website even goes so far as to say, "The Divine Comedy is Neil Hannon," and Hannon is quoted in an interview as saying, "The Divine Comedy will always be my band because... I thought of it first!" In 2005 he contributed vocals to his long-time collaborator Joby Talbot's soundtrack for the movie version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
