Cortex
Four (or more) artists have gone by the name Cortex: a French jazz-funk group from the 70s, a Swedish punk band, a Spanish metalcore band and a experimental Belgian project by Alain Neffe. 1. A French jazz funk group from the seventies.
Key members were Alain Mion (Piano) and Alain Gandolfi (drums, percussion). Cortex recorded several albums and singles for the Sonodisc label. 2 albums got re-issued: 'Troupeau Bleu' (on 'Dare-Dare') and 'Volume 2' (on 'Follow Me'). 2. A Swedish punk or post-punk band from Gothenburg.
Voice of Cod
Voice Of Cod are Colin Bennun (OOOD, Unconscious Collective) and Andrew Humphries (Organic Records / Zuloop) and who started making music in together in 2003 after meeting at a party in London. Their tunes can only be described as dance floor shredding psytrance, with a bouncy feel and an uplifting vibe. All of their releases have been praised by punters and DJs alike, with hits such as 'We Are Free' (Organic), 'The Art of Funk Shui' (Transient), 'Heart of Gold' (Liquid) and the powerfully uplifting 'Just a Ride' on Organic's Tsunami Benefit compilation.
Black and White
For the psytrance artists go to the Black & White page and fix your tags. The band went under the name “First Love” and performed at the Hemmens Auditorium Battle of the Bands. The band took first place and won “cash plus recording time”. As time went on the band changed its name to “Black and White” and soon became very popular on the Illinois Club Circuit.
