Footwork

There are multiple artists with the name "Footwork", including a genre. 1)
Footwork is a local trio comprised of Taylor Wingett (Secondary), Myke Pelly (Haunted Horses), and James Scheall (Wet Paint DMM, Half Gift). Their sound is—perhaps unsurprisingly—not unlike a weird, mutant hybrid of Haunted Horses’ grand guignol and Wet Paint DMM’s singularly clanging brutality. The bass and guitar shriek, stab, and throb with the distorted angularity of German Expressionism...

Clara Clara

Clara Clara saw the light of day in a basement in the small town of Dijon, France, gathered around a saucepan drumkit, a “” Höner guitar and a My First Sony Microphone. Yet it immediately became the very core of the local scene (we’re talking at least 8 people here, all of them shell- shocked by a short stay in town of band The Ex). Basically of Charles and François Virot (the latter being famous enough under his own name) and Amélie Lambert (a school book of whom cued the band with its name)...

The Paraffins

(2008 - present) The Paraffins are a band from Scotland making scary but catchy primitive pop you can attempt to dance to with a rusty stringed acoustic guitar, an ancient beatbox, caveman drums, a melodica containing various waterborne diseases and god knows what else. Influenced by Wall Of Voodoo, Ariel Pink, Suicide and Kid Creole & The Coconuts among others. Members are Billy and whoever else.

Artist Type:

Eric Ayotte

Singer of Halo Fauna’s solo acoustic thing, which seems to be the rage these days. If you’ve ever seen Eric you know how heartfelt his songs are. He’s been playing shows recently with his traveling film festival, combining it into a 1:2 punch of music and movies. Recently he put out an album of songs he wrote to his grandfather’s poetry. It’s some pretty amazing stuff. He is also known for having a sweet beard.

Thee Moths

Thee Moths are sometimes several, often one. Since forming in 2000 the band has expanded and contracted as needs dictated. Over the last few years Thee Moths has been Alex Botten and whoever he asks to help. The music is just as fractured as the line-up, with recordings and shows going from laptop glitching to acoustic folk as the mood takes. Over 8 years Thee Moths totalled 55 releases on a myriad of labels around the world. Put on ice in July 2008. Warming up again winter/spring 2009....
