Tawiah

If you’ve seen Tawiah, you’ll know it. You might think you know her because you recognise the smile as wide as the equator, or the incredible off kilter dress sense, or you may remember seeing a show stopping performance on stage with Mark Ronson, as she’s the only live female vocalist at his gigs. But none of these things is the real reason you know her. You’ll know her because of the voice, or more to the point - her voice.

Rumour Cubes

Rumour Cubes are a group of 20-something Londoners with a love for all things musical. Taking influences from Explosions In The Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Mogwai, among others, the group layer intricate melodies over technical drum beats and delayed guitars. Working with film makers, poets and DJs and using a joystick to control granulated found sounds, Rumour cubes focus as much on the experience as the music itself. An evening in their company will certainly be different.

Perhaps the most anarchistic band of the Underground was the Deviants founded and fronted by singer/writer Mick Farren, the Social Deviants, later just the Deviants, made three bizarre albums in two years. Mick Farren states that The Deviants were a community band which "did things every now and then - it was a total assault thing with a great deal of inter-relation and interdependence".
