The Wick Effect

The Wick Effect (UK) were formed in Leeds, England in the late summer of 2008. After two failed attempts we managed to recruit a bass player who wanted to play what we wanted to play. I Will Stand, Expire and Numb were recorded in the summer of 2009 We are now writing and rehearsing new material ready for UK dates in the spring of 2010 Any similarity between our band name and any other previous bands of the same or similar name is entirely accidental and fully unintentional. To date, I Will Stand is our only release.

Culture Club

Culture Club was a popular 1980s pop group, perhaps most noticeable for their gender-bending frontman Boy George. The other members of the band were Roy Hay on guitars and keyboards, Mikey Craig playing bass and Jon Moss (ex Damned, London, Adam and the Ants) on drums. Their first album, 1982's Kissing to Be Clever, became a major international hit, spawning the hit singles "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" (which went 'all the way' in the BBC-Charts in late 1982), "Time (Clock of the Heart)", and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya".

A cross between a pop group and a chamber orchestra, the band's sound was heavily oriented toward orchestral instruments. DJ Trace

DJ Trace was an early member of the tight-knit crew of producers constituting popular techstep drum'n'bass label No U-Turn. His first crack at broad exposure came through the compilation "Techsteppin'" released on Emotif in 1995. It contained a number of tracks licensed from the No U-Turn studios, and helped seed a new direction in drum'n'bass, one characterized by heavy use of electronics, cavernous beats and basslines, and the dystopian histrionics that have since become trademarks of the No U-Turn/Nu Black sound.

The Big I Am

The Big I Am are a four piece band based in London. Their music is a combination of soaring and heartfelt acoustic moments and something altogether more raw and anthemic, retaining throughout their distinctive sense of rhythm and melody and ability to affect the listener. Originally formed in Oxford in 2000 before shifting the whole operation to the big smoke in 2004, TBIA have been taking some of London's darkest, dingiest gig venues by storm. Their In Your Arms EP has attracted siginficant interest and more recording is planned early in 2008.
