Matmos is M.C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel, from San Francisco aided and abetted by many others. In their recordings and live performances from 1995, Matmos have used the sounds of: amplified crayfish nerve tissue, the pages of bibles turning, a bowed five string banjo, slowed down whistles and kisses, water hitting copper plates, the runout groove of a vinyl record, a $5.00 electric guitar, liposuction surgery, cameras and VCRs, chin implant surgery, contact microphones on human hair, violins, rat cages...

Born in the UK as Alan Smith, he has been recording under the moniker 'The Average Man' for the last 5 years. His influences are far reaching from Eno to Aphex Twin to Four Tet to Philip Glass, and taking in splashes of world music and more than a pinch of the noughties electronica scene.

Dabrye

Dabrye (pronounced “DAB-ree”) is just one alias of Ghostly artist Tadd Mullinix, who explores with head-nodding beats and saw-tooth bass lines, with a keen eye to forward-thinking production and rhythms. Dabrye has earned considerable praise from both the underground (Jay Dee, Jurassic 5) and the electronic music press, earning him a Next 100 mention from URB in 2002 and praise from publications as diverse as Rolling Stone to The Wire.

Cristian Vogel

Cristian Vogel is a composer and music producer, known for his experimental DJ and Live performances, studio composition and production. Born in Chile 1972 but growing up in the UK, he now lives and works in Barcelona. Over more than a decade he has recorded a number of albums and released on eminent experimental techno labels such as Tresor Berlin, Novamute and Mille Plateaux. His most recent full length, 'Station 55' has been described as "an album which will keep you awake at night in all the wrong ways".

This young musical romantic weaves together a true "love-sound" that falls between honeyed melody and avant-electronic rave. Recently, he has taken the romantic lead further and formed a husband & wife band, The Long Lost. Working from a studio in Santa Monica, California. A young Daedelus began noodling bass clarinet notes, and soon graduated into the covenant of double-bass. After an ill-fated affair pondering classical and jazz, rave paved the way, and a burgeoning record collection fueled Daedelus’ artistic creativity, preparing the path to his first full length release, Invention.

Captain Ahab

Captain Ahab is an electropop duo based in Los Angeles, California. They refer to their sound, a DIY take on dance music, as ravesploitation. The band is made up of Jonathan Snipes and Jim Merson. A typical Captain Ahab live performance consists of playback of recorded beats from a computer and vigorous singing by both members of the band. While performing, members of Captain Ahab are usually partially undressed, covered in sweat, and constantly forcing themselves into physical contact with members of the audience.

Mira Calix

Mira Calix, real name Chantal Passamonte, is an artist signed to Warp Records who mixes her intimate vocals with jittering beats and experimental electronic textures. Having previously worked as press officer for Warp Records she quit to concentrate on producing her own material. Her first release on Warp was the "Ilanga" 10" co-produced with Autechre. The "Pin Skeeling" single followed in 1998m notably featuring a Boards of Canada remix.
