Alternative country singer/songwriter Neko Case won a steadily growing cult audience for her smoky, sophisticated vocals and the downcast beauty of her music. Born in Alexandria, VA, Case moved around often as a child, spending the largest part of her youth in Tacoma, WA. She left her parents at age 15, and three years later she started playing drums for several bands around the Northwest's punk rock scene.
Samuel Timothy "Tim" McGraw (born May 1, 1967 in Delhi, Louisiana) is an American country singer and actor. With many of his albums and singles topping the country music charts, Tim has achieved total album sales in excess of 40 million units. He is married to country singer Faith Hill and is the son of former baseball player Tug McGraw. His trademark hit songs include Indian Outlaw, Don't Take the Girl, I Like It, I Love It, Something Like That, It's Your Love (featuring his wife, Faith Hill), and Live Like You Were Dying.
Calexico is an indie-rock band formed in Tucson, Arizona in 1996, known for playing an eclectic variety of music. The two main members are Joey Burns and John Convertino, who first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records, while their 2005 album In the Reins, a collaboration with Iron & Wine, has reached the Billboard 200 album charts. Burns and Convertino have also collaborated with Lisa Germano and Howe Gelb as OP8, releasing the album Slush in 1997.
Blood Meridian, a Canadian group that started in a hotel room during a Black Halos tour (of which the singer, songwriter, and guitarist of Blood Meridian, Matt Camirand, was a part), took their name from the Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name, and looked to mix punk, Americana, and rock influences together. Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power, while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City, United States in 1992, then later opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee.
Woven Hand is the personal project of David Eugene Edwards, former frontman of 16 Horsepower, featuring a revolving cast of collaborators from Denver, Colorado, United States formed in 2001. The band began in 2001 as a solo project for Edwards while his primary group, 16 Horsepower, were taking a temporary hiatus. The band's first live shows were performed by Edwards and multi-instrumentalist Daniel McMahon; the debut, self-titled Woven Hand album was released in 2002 on Glitterhouse Records.
Band of Horses, known early in its life as simply Horses, is a folk-rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, United States by Ben Bridwell, Mat Brooke, Tim Meinig and Chris Early. Creighton Barret and Rob Hampton Later replaced Meinig and Early and in February 2006 Joe Arnone joined the troupe. They are currently signed to Fat Possum Records. The band often draws comparisons to the indie rock band My Morning Jacket largely due to the vocal similarities between Bridwell and My Morning Jacket lead singer Jim James.
Audrey Auld Mezera is an Australian neo-traditional country artist who records under her maiden name, Auld. In 2004, she married and moved to Northern California, and now tours out of Nashville. Audrey released her debut EP in 1997, produced by fellow-Australian Bill Chambers. Bill and Audrey formed their own label, Reckless Records, in 1998. Audrey has also recorded with Fred Eaglesmith, Dale Watson, Kieran Kane, Mary Gauthier, and others.

Crooked Fingers is an American alt-folk band based in North Carolina and led by former Archers Of Loaf lead singer Eric Bachmann. The rotation of band members has included such musicians as Lara Meyerratken, R.L. Martin, Jo Jameson, Barton Carroll and Dov Friedman. In 1998, following the breakup of Archers of Loaf, Bachmann started work on a solo project that he named Crooked Fingers. The first outcome of this project, a self-titled release of various songs he had written, was released by WARM in 2000.
