Remember Shakti

Remember Shakti is the second incarnation of guitarist John McLaughlin's group which plays a fusion of indian music and jazz. The original Shakti was most active between 1975 and 1978; Remember Shakti was formed in 2000 and has played on and off since then. The core of Remember Shakti is guitarist John McLaughlin and master tabla player and percussionist Zakir Hussain, both members of the original Shakti. On the first recording from 2000, T.H. Vinayakram (also a member of the original Shakti) plays ghatam and Indian drum, and Hariprasad Chaurasia plays bansuri flute.

Juggy D (born Jagwinder Singh Dhaliwal on November 19)[1] [2] is a British bhangra singer from Southall in London, England Juggy D got his name from his first name Jagwinder which became Juggy, and the D from his last name Dhaliwal. Juggy D married his college sweetheart Harjeet Hayre after a year he hit fame and 4 years later she divorced him. Regardless he still has a tattoo of both their names in sanskrit on his left arm

Trilok Gurtu

Trilok Gurtu (born in Mumbai (Bombay) on 30 October 1951) is an Indian percussionist. His mother, singer Shobha Gurtu, started him on the tabla, and he later studied the instrument with Abdul Karim. He started playing the Western drum kit in the 1970s, and became interested in jazz. In the 1970s he played with Charlie Mariano, John Tchicai, Terje Rypdal, and Don Cherry. In the 1980s he played with John McLaughlin and since the 1990s he has been a solo artist, sometimes with a band called Crazy Saints.

There at least two artist by the name of India, one from the United States and one from the United Kingdom. 1) A highly-emotive approach to Latin music has led to Puerto Rico-born and Bronx, New York-raised La India (born: Linda Viera Caballero) being dubbed, "The Princess of Salsa." Her 1994 album, Dicen Que Soy, spent months on the Latin charts. While known for her Salsa recordings, India started out recording Freestyle w/ her debut album Breaking Night in 1990 as well as lending her vocals to many house classics.

Susheela Raman

Susheela Raman (b. 1973) is a singer of Indian descent. Raman was born in London, later emigrating to Australia with her family. In Australia she studied classical South Indian song and began giving performances. She then began working with Western forms including rock and soul, while continuing to study classical Indian music with Shruti Sadolikar. Her desire to mix Indian with Western music resulted in her first album, Salt Rain, in 2001, followed by Love Trap in 2003.

Jazzy B

Jazzy B (given name Jaswinder Singh Bains) was born on April 1, 1975 in Nawanshahr, Punjab. Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, he currently resides in Birmingham, England and is a transatlantic superstar who has introduced a fresh new image to the world of bhangra music. He was dicovered at the age of 18 by noted bhangra producer Sukshinder Shinda, who has gone on to produce all of his albums.
