Daniel Hope

The British violinist, Daniel Hope, is renowned the world over for his musical versatility and creativity. In January 2007 he signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, with whom he will now record a variety of projects. In 2004 Hope won three major awards for his recording of Berg and Britten Concerti - the Classical Brit Awards in England, and in Germany the Deutsche Schallplattenpreis and the ECHO Klassik Prize. At the 2005 Grammy™ Awards he received two nominations; and in October 2006 he won the ECHO Prize for the third year in succession.

Rachel Podger

Rachel Podger is a violinist specialising in music from the Baroque era and known for her performances on a Baroque instrument (roughly a full tone lower than a modern violin and usually played with gut strings). Podger's recordings of the Bach's solo sonatas and partitas, and her recording of the same composer's double violin concerto (with Andrew Manze) and sonatas with harpsichord (with Trevor Pinnock), have all been met with critical acclaim.

Nigel Kennedy

Nigel Kennedy (born December 28, 1956 in Brighton, England) is a violinist and violist. He was a pupil at the Yehudi Menuhin School, under Yehudi Menuhin himself, and later at the Juilliard School under Dorothy DeLay. Kennedy has done much a to popularise classical music, particularly among young people. He has also performed and recorded most of the major violin concerti. Kennedy expresses concern for the immediate appeal of live performance, and often records entire works or movements in single 'takes' to preserve this sense in his recordings.

FourPlay String Quartet

FourPlay Electric String Quartet is a four-piece rock band from Sydney, Australia, formed in 1995. It should not be confused with a smooth jazz group in the United States also known as Fourplay. FourPlay's members include brothers Tim Hollo (violin and viola) and Peter Hollo (cello), Lara Goodridge (violin and vocals) and Shenzo Gregorio (viola); former members include: Veren Grigorov (viola) & Chris Emerson (viola).

Richard Tognetti

Richard Tognetti (born 4 August 1965) is an Australian violinist, composer and conductor. He was born in Canberra and raised in Wollongong. He is currently Artistic Director and Leader of the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Tognetti studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Alice Waten and undertook post-graduate study at the Berne Conservatory with Igor Ozim, where he was awarded the Tschumi prize in 1989.
