Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Baron Lloyd-Webber (born 22 March 1948) is a highly successful British composer of musical theatre. He has arguably been the most popular theatre composer of the late 20th century, with multiple showpieces which have run for more than a decade both on Broadway and in the West End. Throughout his career he has produced 16 musicals, 2 film scores, and a Latin requiem mass. He has also accumulated a number of honors, including seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Oscar, an International Emmy, six Olivier Awards, and a Golden Globe Award.

The first female composer to ever win an Oscar, native Brit Rachel Portman studied Music at Oxford University, having begun composing at the age of thirteen. Her credits include the scores for 'Emma', 'Chocolat', 'Oliver Twist', 'The Cider House Rules' and most recently 'The Duchess'. She writes lush, sweeping scores which favour the use of the traditional orchestra and are often piano-led, this being the instrument on which she prefers to compose.

Ilham al Madfai (Arabic: ????? ???????) is an Iraqi guitarist, singer, and composer. His musical talent began to develop seriously when he was twelve years old. He started as, and still is, a guitarist at heart. His musical career formally started when he formed his first band, the Twisters, in the 1960s. They were the first band in Iraq, and probably the Arab world, that used modern instruments to play Arabic music (guitar, drums, bass, & piano).
