DJ Kentaro

dj KENTARO is a Hip hop DJ from Japan. He came 3rd in the Technics DMC World DJ Final in 2001 and won it in 2002 at the age of 20. In doing so, he became the first ever Asian to win the DMC World DJ Final, receiving the highest score in DMC history in the process. He was signed to Ninja Tune independent record label and released a Solid Steel DJ mix album in September 2005, entitled On The Wheels of Solid Steel. The tracks on the album come exclusively from Ninja Tune's back catalogue.

Dr. Octagon

Dr. Octagon is one of Kool Keith's many alter egos. His initial release as Dr. Octagon was 1996's Dr. Octagonecologyst, on which he collaborated with Dan the Automator Nakamura and DJ QBert. After the name was dropped in favour of Dr. Dooom, it was widely believed that it wouldn't be used again until the release of 2006's The Return of Dr. Octagon, which Keith maintains was changed and released without his consent.

DJ Vadim

DJ Vadim (aka Vadim Peare, real name Andrey Gurov) is a prolific DJ from Russia, based in London. His music combines hip hop and electronica and his recording technique involves very precise sampling as opposed to looping. He signed to Ninja Tune in 1992, and founded his own independent record label, Jazz Fudge in 1995. Aside from DJ-ing, he has worked in numerous roles including A&R, promoter, and radio presenter on the BBC's "Around The World In Eight Relays".

Solid Steel

SOLID STEEL - THE BROADEST BEATS - COLDCUT & FRIENDS BROADCASTING LIVE Coldcut first started Solid Steel back in 1988 on the London pirate station Kiss FM. Jonathan More had been involved with the station since it's inception in 1985 hosting the Meltdown parties. Matt Black joined in early 1987 with his Mixmaster Dance Party. As Coldcut, they joined forces to present the fledgling Solid Steel. It soon became a regular event as listeners tuned in religiously to tape their weekly fix of audio madness.

Chris Read

Based in Hackney, London, Chris Read is a hip hop dj, remixer and producer. He is also the promoter and resident dj at SUBSTANCE (one of the longest running and largest regular hip hop funk and beats nights in the UK). He is perhaps best known for his mixtape "The Diary (World's Greatest Rap Megamix)" which was a chronological mix of rap classics by order of release from 1979-2007, 801 tracks in total! The cd version of the mix included an A5 booklet listing all the tracks used.
