Matt Knee - Drums Further emerging proof of the wealth of talent beavering away in practice rooms in the north. No northern monkeys these lads. Kristian Walker & Ritchie Townend, old school friends, used to go around one another's house listening to all the old classic albums of the time and thought that they had some great ideas of their own. Matt Knee & Maff Smith soon joined and Last Gang was formed late last year.
Danielson
Danielson Famile (aka Danielson) is a band from Clarksboro, New Jersey, that plays a quirky blend of Indie pop and gospel music. They are also a notable example of Bass-Pop, perhaps more fittingly called Avant-Pop. The members of the band are Daniel Smith and his siblings Megan Smith (Megan Slaboda), David Smith, Rachel Smith (Rachel Galloway), Andrew Smith, wife Elin K. Smith, and friend Chris X. Smith (Chris Palladino). Recently, Sufjan Stevens has joined the band as an adopted member of the family, playing banjo on the album Brother Is to Son and touring with them when possible.
The Sea and Cake
The Sea and Cake is a pop/rock group with a pronounced jazz influence, which formed in 1994 in Chicago, Illinois. The group's name came from a willful reinterpretation (in the wake of an accidental miscomprehension) of The C In Cake, a song by Gastr Del Sol. Starting with 1997's The Fawn, the group has relied on electronic sound sources, such as drum machines and synthesizers, to color its music, but has retained its distinctive post-jazz combo style.
My Sad Captains
my sad captains are a London-based quintet who sound like pavement getting a pop overhaul. Formed in late 2004, they expand on the standard guitar line-up by adding various other instruments, such as violin, melodica, keyboard, glockenspiel and samples. They produce an american alt-pop sound, touched with country lashes and occasional fiery noise outbursts. They attempt to play interesting melodic songs that hold people's interest.
io echo
Working on their debut album which blends grand, romantic and dark songs with unique textures such as chinese violins and koto harps. In the meantime, the band has opened for The Big Pink, Florence and The Machine, The Drums, and Nine Inch Nails and they have recently composed the score to the Harmony Korine + James Franco film "Rebel"

The Verlaines
The origins of New Zealand's Verlaines can be traced back as early as 1979, with the group's founder Graeme Downes took direct inspiration from fellow Dunedin group, the Clean to form a band of his own. It wasn't until 1981 that the group made their first public appearance with their initial five-piece line-up. The band have so far released seven full-length albums on three different labels, one mini album, three singles and two compilations.

Art Brut
Art Brut are an eccentric, motley bunch who have more in common with Half Man Half Biscuit and Pulp than they do with their oft-compared ‘influences’ The Fall. The band formed in 2003 and the current line-up consists of Eddie Argos (vocals), Ian Catskilkin (guitar), Friederike "Freddy" Feedback (bass), Jasper Future (guitar) and Mikey Breyer (drums). Vocalist Eddie Argos (an ex-goth obsessed with Jonathan Richman and Vincent Van Gogh) had previously been in a band, The Art Goblins, in his hometown of Bournemouth.
