Speedy Ortiz is a 4-piece from Noho, MA. DADGBE thru OCD. SMFH. Circle Takes the Square

Circle Takes the Square (often abbreviated CTTS) is a band from Savannah, Georgia, USA. The band formed in 2001 as a four-piece and after their first two releases they lost a guitarist but gained another in late 2004. What listeners tend to notice first about the band is the loud screaming of both male and female vocals that often function in a kind of call and response. Skillful, chaotic drumming coupled with intense, highly technical bass/guitar work have served to separate the band from most others in the screamo genre.

Mahjongg

Chicago party animals, Mahjongg, originally from Columbia, MO, may be nearing the top of Chicago's 'local band' heap, but if you haven't heard of them yet it's probably because their music has made it quite difficult for locals to nail them down in a 'scene.' Mahjongg's shows are always ragers, which often leads attendees to shove (or drop) the actual musicianship from their memories - a shame since they're onto something pretty damn cool.

Kelley Stoltz

Multi-instrumentalist Kelley Stoltz grew up in the Detroit area, but eventually found his way to San Francisco after taking a detour to New York City, where he worked in the mailroom at Jeff Buckley's management company. Armed with a four-track recorder and tons of great ideas, Stoltz began recording his own songs, performing all the parts himself. These songs caught the ear of Monte Vallier, who helped Stoltz clean up and sweeten the recordings for release as The Past Was Faster on The Telegraph Company.

Fairchild Republic

FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC are a rock band with grand ambitions. Think Killers, U2 and R.E.M and you are on the right track. Disinterested in what is cool right now, they are writing emotional songs with a goal to move people. FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC met at a Gold Coast high school and have a front man that is intoxicating in a Michael Hutchence kind of a way. Self releasing their debut EP “Ships are for Sailing" in April 2010, FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC have taken a different approach this time around, choosing to record new material in their home studio.

Formed in early 2010 by Stu and Dan, they soon recruited both Tom and Lara from the internet (it is amazing what you can buy on ebay!). With a mixture of fuzz and jangle, they have some great songs written and loads more to write.
