Sz. Berlin
Sz.Berlin (Schmerzzentrum Berlin) is a London based industrial ‘schmerznoise’ project formed in 2007, producing what it terms ‘A-SED Haus Musik’ in a produktionist style. Its personnel are rumoured to be the remains of a DDR sleeper unit. It draws inspiration from the history and iconography of the DDR, plus related German and European historical, cultural & ideological sources. It takes particular inspiration from the hidden history of electronic music research in the DDR, as well as from East German design culture.
