Cortex

Four (or more) artists have gone by the name Cortex: a French jazz-funk group from the 70s, a Swedish punk band, a Spanish metalcore band and a experimental Belgian project by Alain Neffe. 1. A French jazz funk group from the seventies.
Key members were Alain Mion (Piano) and Alain Gandolfi (drums, percussion). Cortex recorded several albums and singles for the Sonodisc label. 2 albums got re-issued: 'Troupeau Bleu' (on 'Dare-Dare') and 'Volume 2' (on 'Follow Me'). 2. A Swedish punk or post-punk band from Gothenburg.

Beatnik

There are at least two artists that go by the name Beatnik; The first is the artist signed to the "Box Social" label, which released the e.p "A Master Class In Whatever" which is a progressive concept record in which all 23 minutes flow together, even though they're formed from 5 movements. Beatnik is a progressive/drum & bass/IDM outfit from Bexhill-On-Sea, England. The second artist is the DJ Beatnik who is most commonly labled as "Psy-Trance" who is known for such songs as "kazoodle beach" and "stealing time".

Spectrum

There is more than one artist with this name. 1) Spectrum is a project of Peter Kember, a British musician more usually known as Sonic Boom, and founding member of the band Spacemen 3. Sonic Boom's first solo album, Spectrum, was recorded in 1989 while Spacemen 3 were still together, and featured the other members of the group. However, when Spacemen 3 disbanded in 1991, Kember recruited new musicians for the group Spectrum.

Coming from Northern Israel, EMOK defines its style with intense emotions and complexity. Avoiding the Israeli military sentence, the trio came to New York in 1998 though they've been playing together since high school.

Red Sun

There are apparently at least three bands with this name... 01) From smooth, bossa-tinged, ultra fashionable tracks to dreamy yet solid electro pop, the duo of Maiko Mogi and Naoya Yoshida navigate through all sorts of twee bedroom grooves as RED SUN. Formed around 2000, the duo has released a number of albums over the years. They mostly blend singer Maiko's mid-range, smokey voice with the equally muted and organic synths.

Oood

OOOD - How deep can you bleep? OOOD (aka. Out Of Our Depth) are 4 blokes from England whose mission is to have a good time, spread a little joy and write some blinding psy-trance in the process. Originally formed in 1994 by Colin Bennun, Nigel Bradbury and Stephen Callaghan, the current line-up is Colin, Steve and new members (but old friends) Ramsay Melhuish and Ryokan Potier. As well as being talented DJs they bring an extra live element to OOOD's live shows, adding live drums, percussion, guitar and psychedelia.

NightShade

1) The band is based in Kungsbacka, south of Gothenburg, Sweden. It was formerly known as Northern Shadow, but the name was changed to Nightshade in January 1996. After some serious line-up changes (in fact, the only remaining member is vocalist Daniel Kvist), the first official demo, ‘The Benighted’, was recorded in ART Studio June 1997. A couple of bassplayers later the preparation of the second demo resulted in recruiting a keyboard player.

Trimada

Tarek Mansur and Jonas Andersson "Berre" forms the swedish psytrance duo Trimada. Their first and so far only album - Devilish - was released 2004. The album was a big hit in the local rave scene, it showcases high production quality and originality. Tarek and Jonas are currently working on their second album.
