Bob Delyn A'R Ebillion

Bob Delyn a'r Ebillion are a Welsh folk-rock band fronted by poet, bard, singer and harpist Twm Morys. Their songs are sung in Welsh, with several in Breton (singer Nolwenn Korbell also features on two of their albums), strongly influenced by traditional songs and legends, but with an original, fresh take. This is also evident in the music, a unique mix of contemporary rhythms and instruments, with strong presence of Celtic harp and haunting sax.
They have released four albums, Sgwarnogod Bach Bob (Bob's Little Hares), Gwbade Bach Cochlyd (Little Red Faces), Gedon and Dore.

Artist Type:

Julie Murphy

There are 2 performers with this name: 1) an American singer, who fronts Virginia contemporary folk group Eddie From Ohio; 2) a British singer, who fronts Welsh neo-traditional folk group Fernhill. 1) Raised by a musically-talented family in northern Virginia, Julie Murphy (now Julie Murphy Wells) has had singing as an avocation since childhood. Her rich, clear voice has been a hallmark of indie folk powerhouse Eddie From Ohio since she and three friends founded it in 1991; despite the demands of touring, she released two solo albums in the first half of the 1990s.

Blackmore's Night

Blackmore's Night is an English Renaissance-inspired medieval folk rock band led by UK guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (electric and acoustic guitars) and Candice Night (lyricist and lead vocals). The origins of the band lie in 1990 when Candice was working at a local New York rock music radio station, and as part of her work first encountered Ritchie (now ex-Deep Purple/Rainbow guitarist), then with Deep Purple, at a soccer game he was playing in. The two became romantically entwined and discovered that they shared a passionate interest in the Renaissance.

Founded the Avalonian Free State Choir in 1992, principally with the intention of performing "Pagan Carols".

Artist Type:

Robin Williamson

Born in the early 1940s and brought up in Edinburgh, Scotland, Robin became a mainstay of the whimsical psychedelic folk combo The Incredible String Band in the late 60s and early 70s. He moved to California and formed the Merry Band in the 70s, following more Celtic roots directions in his music. By this time, he had already contributed to over a dozen albums, toured widely and written fiddle and penny whistle tutors. By the 80s, Robin was concentrating on harp music. The Incredible String Band still seems to be an on-going project, even if not full time.
