Camera Obscura

There are at least three artists named Camera Obscura: 1) Scottish indie pop band formed in 1996 by Tracyanne Campbell, John Henderson, and Gavin Dunbar. Since their debut album Biggest Bluest Hi-Fi released in 2001, they have mainly played acoustic, melancholic folk pop influenced by various sixties artists and contemporary UK indie pop groups. Camera Obscura released a second album, Underachievers Please Try Harder, the following year, and in September, 2005, the band started recording their next album, named Let's Get out of This Country, with producer Jari Haapalainen.

Edwyn Collins

Edwyn Collins (born August 23, 1959) is a Scottish musician from Edinburgh. He formed the Nu-Sonics in 1976, which became Orange Juice in 1979. The group is perhaps best known for the No. 8 hit "Rip it Up", its only UK top 40 single. In 1985, Orange Juice broke up, and he has since then pursued a solo career. Edwyn Collins is best known for his 1994 hit, "A Girl Like You", which was featured in the films Empire Records and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and "Magic Piper of Love", a 1997 single which featured on the soundtrack of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

Matt McGinn

There are at least two artists with the name Matt McGinn 1. A Glasgow singer songwriter and poet who came to prominence in the 60's with his prolific folk songs.
2. An Irish singer songwriter from Hilltown, Co. Down in the Mourne Mountains who has released his debut album Livin'
1. Matt McGinn was one of the most important singer songwriters of the folk revival in the 1960s and 1970s. He was born on 17th January 1928, in Ross Street, Glasgow, next to the famous "Barras " market.

We Are The Physics

We Are The Physics, purveyors of the completely fictional mutant science punk rock hail from Glasgow, Scotland and first graced a stage in 2005 by mistake when Hoggboy was cancelled. Originally known as We Are The Physics Club And Therefore Everything We Say Is Fact, the spindly legged quartet source from bands such as Devo, The Skids, Polysics, Buddy Holly and Ex Models. 1990s

1990s are a glasgow, Scotland indie three-piece, signed to rough trade. The guitarist/vocalist, Jackie McKeown was one of the founding members of former Glasgow band, The Yummy Fur. Michael McGaughrin, drummer/vocalist, and new bassist/vocalist Dino Bardot used to be in another Glasgow band, V-Twin. Debut album, Cookies, was released 14th May 2007. The band have received plays from mtv2, and are gradually making a name for themselves.

Inspired by fact, fiction, surrealism and the mundane; and with sounds reminiscent of the Buzzcocks, The Kinks, The Fall, Ramones, 'all the good stuff' as Danny puts it.

King Creosote & Jon Hopkins

March 28th sees the release of Diamond Mine, a collaborative album from King Creosote and Jon Hopkins. Featuring lyrics and vocals from King Creosote sung over musical backdrops arranged and recorded by Jon Hopkins, Diamond Mine is a genuine labour of love, recorded over a number of years without the pressure of deadlines, whenever Jon and KC could get together. The album, featuring instrumental moments as affecting as the lyrical, consists of newly interpreted obscure delights picked out from 20 years of King Creosote’s treasure chest of a back catalogue.
