Amenra

Amenra is a progressive / sludge / post-metal band formed 2003 in Kortrijk, West-Flanders, Belgium. Amenra delivers dark, heavy and sludgy post-hardcore in the vein of Cult of Luna, Isis and Neurosis. It is intense, noisy, gloomy, and darkly atmospheric. It is rich with textured riffs, thunderous low tones, high impact percussion and cutthroat vocals injected with a dose of religious iconography. And it all coalesces into a beautiful, pitch black collection of overwhelming sound.

Hierophant

There are three artists with this name: 1.) Hierophant is very slow, raw and atmospheric funeral doom metal project of Xathagorra Mlandroth - one of the founders of funeral doom itself (with Thergothon, Skepticism, Funeral and others).
The music is always very slow, depressive and weighty (extremely). All tracks are quite primitive, but it can be requited by unique and deep atmosphere of solitude and endless darkness.

Baroness

Baroness plays an eclectic brand of heavy metal, embracing the ferocity and sharp technique of new-millennium metal but with melodic accents and intelligent guitar work that suggests the influence of indie rock and post-punk bands. The four members of Baroness -- John Baizley on guitar and vocals, Brian Blickle on guitar, Summer Welch on bass, and Allen Blickle on drums -- are all originally from Lexington, VA, but they pulled up stakes and relocated to Savannah, GA, when they formed the band in mid-2003.

End Of Level Boss

End of Level Boss return to the fray with their 3rd album “Eklectric”, released via Exile On Mainstream Records. Continuing in their all-consuming search for twisted riffs, the London based band returned to the analogue domains of Earth Terminal Studios, England, (the same location used for their highly acclaimed 2007 release “Inside the Difference Engine”) during the dying days of 2010. Bringing in a completely new rhythm section (Peter Theobalds (ex Akercocke / Gonga) on bass, and Neil Grant (ex RAAR) on drums) the band have unleashed an angrier...

The Sword

There are two bands that Last FM classifies as "The Sword": 1) A doom/stoner metal band from Texas, USA. 2) A melodic punk band from Leeds, UK, called The sWord who formed in 2004 by ex-members of Joe Ninety and Dugong. Their debut album was released on Clean it up! Records. Here follows a more detailed description of the former: The Sword is a doom/stoner-metal four-piece hailing from -- of all places -- the singer/songwriter oasis of Austin, TX. First conceived in 2003, the Sword really hit their stride about a year later, when founding vocalist and guitarist J.
