Sophie Madeleine

An adorable little girl from Brighton, England. There comes a time in a true originals career where they become more than the sum of their influences. Sophie Madeleine's star is in such an ascendant, and we are witnessing the results of some maverick fusion. Steeped in an inherited classicism (she had a music-lover for a father,) she absorbed the greats of the last century - from Cole Porter to Gershwin, Bacharach, Beatles and beyond. Shades of Feist and Aimee Mann haunt her delivery, whilst she shines a light on the love song in a way that is at once candid, secretive and strange.

Steve McCormick

Formed in 1975, although not actually born until 1976, Steve McCormick is the result of a night of passion (or, quite possibly, a perfunctory fumble) between his parents. Just over thirty years on this planet, and over half of them with a guitar in his hand (although not constantly - going to the toilet, bathing, driving, etc. would be difficult). Steve McCormick is a singer/songwriter based near Carlisle, Cumbria, England who wears his musical influences on his sleeve and doesn't try to fit into an idealised image of what any genre should sound like.
