Monarch, originally from Pittsburgh PA, signed to Northern Records of Orange County where they released "The Grandeur That Was Rome" in 2003 and "Lowly" in 2007, featuring collaborations with members of the bands OneRepublic, Pedro the Lion, and Starflyer 59. As their music has been dubbed as “melodic-driven indie pop,” Monarch has been compared to bands like Elbow, Sigur Ros, Keane, and Denali.

Starvation

#1 Starvation was a hardcore punk band from Požega, Croatia, active trough the 2000's, they participated in the cult "Crust is dead" 4-way split tape with Dislike, Fight Back and Apatdridi. they also played a large number of shows #2 Starvation is some of the bleakest music to come from the US East Coast in recent times. Maybe it's being surrounded constantly by drooling yuppies or self-conscious, ironic hipsters that created the need for Starvation. Whatever it is, there's something in the air in Connecticut that makes all this doom and gloom as natural as taking a big honking dump.

Deadweight

There are two bands that go under the name of Deadweight: 1. Deadweight (UK) A brutal technical death metal 5 piece from Birmingham, England. Were signed to indie label 'Feto Record'. Their debut album 'Origins of Darkness' is in shops now. Expect shredding, pummelling, pulverising, miss shaped noises in your ears. www.myspace.com/deadweightuk. The band split in early 2009. 2. Deadweight (US) is an alternative rock trio from San Francisco, California. Their first 4 track demo is an awesome slice of classic traditional Doom Metal. Influenced by the likes of Candlemass, Penance, Mercy, Stillborn, Pagan Altar, Revelation, Orodruin, Saxon, Count Raven, Brocas Helm, Dark Quarterer and Black Sabbath, Age Of Taurus have the skills to give you the doom thrills! While there is nothing new here or original, the band have a timeless, classic sound that should make them favorites among fans of the Doom Metal underground.

Kongh are a metal threepiece from Sweden. They were founded by Tomas Salonen (drums) and David Johansson (guitars/vocals) in 2004, later joined by Oskar Rydén (bass). After releasing a demo in 2006, they released their first full-length in 2007, entitled Counting Heartbeats. In 2009 they released Shadows Of The Shapeless on Trust No One Recordings.

Led by former members of Sunn O))) and Burning Witch (Bootsy Kronos , B.R.A.D.), this band from Long Beach, CA, USA features members of Secret Chiefs 3, The Master Musicians Of Bukkake and Black Horse. Asva takes the drone metal medium and doom metal aesthetic but involves new elements such as wooden chapel organs and subharmonic drones.

Throne

There are two bands named Throne. The first is a three piece doom/stoner metal band from East London. They make slow, riff-laden facemelters. The second uses alternate casing in their name. There are three members that comprise tHrOnE. One of the most unique aspects of the band, besides their music, is that they are all related to each other. The band includes singer/songwriter and bassist Derek Trafton, his brother, drummer Casey Trafton and their cousin, guitarist/keyboards Justin Millar. tHrOnE was formed in 1995 and originally hails from Connecticut.
