The Gypsy Nomads

A dynamic amalgamation of on-stage chemistry, energy and musicality, New York duo, The Gypsy Nomads, also affectionately known as Frenchy and the Punk, channel the spirit of the gypsy sound, lacing it with a cabaret, celtic and neo-medieval flavor rooted in punk, folk and the vineyards of southern France. Richard Godwin

Richard Godwin (born 1981) is a singer/songwriter from north London. Backing himself with finger-picked acoustic guitar, he sings haunting, dramatic, occasionally humorous ballads in a louche baritone that has drawn comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Nick Cave. The strongest influence on his performing style is the dark, unflinching Belgian chansonnier, Jacques Brel, whose macabre account of lost virginity, Au Suivant, Godwin has translated as "Next!".

The Wooden Spoons

The wooden spoons introduce a fresh, contemporary, yet traditional approach of song-writing and arrangements, taking themselves a step back (or forward?) from the current suffocated market of the indie post-punk culture. Scunner

Based in Glasgow, Scotland, SCUNNER are best categorised as 'Post-Glam Cabaret Stagecore'. At times SCUNNER sound incredibly fragile, and at others cacophonically immense.
Fronted by Paul Puppet assisted by The Lunatic Engineer on Guitar and Keyboard, SCUNNER were supported by random Scunnerettes, including percussionists Rowan and Biz,(who replaced The Urban Fairy), and pleasant plucker Mrjonthehat (Bass and Banjo), throughout 2006/2007, until a more permanent line up involving Andy Red on drums, and J J Mills on electric bass and keyboard was established.

Artist Type:

Birdeatsbaby

Brighton based Birdeatsbaby formed sometime in 2006 with the intention of breaking away from current musical trends. This piano driven female fronted cabaret rock band, with the unusual addition of a string section, creates a sound impossible to pigeon hole, but recent live reviews have included 'a female divine comedy with behavioral problems '. Live shows are theatrical, highly entertaining, frightening but fragile, with brutally honest and witty lyrics.
