Camper Van Beethoven

Camper Van Beethoven is an alternative rock band that was founded in 1983 in Redlands, California, though the band soon moved to Santa Cruz, California. Camper Van Beethoven mixed elements of pop, ska, punk rock, folk, country, and acid rock into an eclectic, catchy and sometimes mysterious ensemble, years before the so-called alternative rock moniker came to mainstream attention. The group's trademark violin-coated melodies and their ironic take on American culture put them one step away from being a novelty act in the eyes of many critics.

Toy Dolls

Toy Dolls are an English punk rock band formed in 1979. While much punk rock is political or angry, Toy Dolls worked within the esthetics of punk to express a sense of fun, with songs such as "Yul Brynner Was A Skinhead", "My Girlfriend's Dad's A Vicar" and "James Bond Lives Down Our Street." There is often alliteration in their song titles (e.g. "Peter Practice's Practice Place", "Fisticuffs in Frederick Street", "Neville is a Nerd").

Death Valley Surfers

Death Valley Surfers are what you can call “Crazy Rock'n'Roll”. DVS are sworn to fun & are dedicated to having a party on stage. In 1998 Russ Surfer, the former drummer of The Highliners decided start a new band. Using the influence of Surfin’ & 60’s Hot Rod music, he began by blending this to Psychobilly. The band has evolved its own unique sound, with the jump about Rhythm of Bo-Diddley on speed. DVS continued the stage chaos of the likes of The Highliners & King Kurt.

Jason And The Scorchers

Jason and the Scorchers are one of the original alternative country bands. They formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1981 when Jason Ringenberg, raised on a hog farm in northern Illinois and fresh out of college, came careening into Nashville looking for a "rock n' roll wild band" and found the Scorchers, three Nashville upstarts who had punk-rock leanings, stand-up comedian attitudes, great musical chops, and more than their share of vices.
