Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick

Martin Carthy MBE is an English folk singer and guitarist who has remained one of the most influential figures in British traditional music, inspiring contemporaries such as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon and later artists such as Richard Thompson since he emerged as a young musician in the early days of the folk revival.
Dave Swarbrick is an English folk musician, best known for his fiddle playing. Swarbrick joined the Ian Campbell Folk Group in 1960.

Archie Fisher

Archie Fisher (born 1939) is a Scottish folk singer and a member of the The Fisher Family, a group of respected traditional and contemporary folk-singers. Archie Fisher was born in Glasgow on 23 October 1939. His sisters Ray and Cilla Fisher, are also singers. In 1960 he moved to Edinburgh and appeared regularly at a folk club called "The Howff" run by Roy Guest. In 1962 Ray and Archie released a single on the Topic label, "Far Over the Forth". They appeared on the BBC programme 'Hootenanny'.

Shirley Collins

Shirley Collins and her sister, Dolly, grew up in the Hastings area of East Sussex in a family which kept alive a great love of traditional song. Songs learnt from their grandfather and from their mother's sister, Grace Winborn, were to be important in the sisters' repertoire throughout their career. On leaving school, at the age of 17, Shirley Collins enrolled at a teachers' training college in Tooting, south London.

Johnny Collins

Johnny Collins (born May 10, 1938) is a London-based folk singer specializing in traditional maritime music. Joined the British Army in 1956, where he learned to play the guitar while posted in London. Was posted to Singapore in 1959 where he began performing in bars and cabarets in his off hours. Was posted to Hong Kong in 1965 where he began performing large concerts with other folk performers in the British and U.S. military.

The Albion Band

The Albion Band are a folk band founded by the former member of Fairport Convention Ashley Hutchings. The band has gone through many evolutions of membership, and indeed name: The Albion Dance Band, The Albion Country Band, The Albion Christmas Band, and spilling over into "Ridgeriders" (Ashley Hutchings, Phil Beer, Chris While, et. al). These apparently different groups share members, tunes, and CD tracks in a fairly confusing fashion, and sometime even the CD sleeve does not agree with the generally used group name for that album.

Isambarde

Isambarde’s music is a powerful blend of traditional and contemporary folk songs, taking the English tradition forward into the 21st century. The band comprises of Chris Green (vocals, guitar), Jude Rees (oboe, vocals) and Emily Sanders (vocals, fiddle). The albums Brunel’s Kingdom, Barnstorming and Living History are all available to buy from the band’s website www.isambarde.co.uk. Isambarde are currently working on a new album, to be produced by Phil Beer on his label Chudleigh Roots.

Waterson:Carthy

Waterson:Carthy are a British folk group comprising Norma Waterson on vocals, her husband Martin Carthy on guitar, their daughter Eliza Carthy on fiddle and Tim Van Eyken on melodeon. Tim joined the group after 1996 when Saul Rose left the group. In 2007 Saul Rose has returned in place of Tim. Martin and Norma tour as a duo once a year, and are members of The Watersons. Individually, the band members are tremendously revered English folk musicians in their own right, but together they form one of the most sought bands available.
