Jez Lowe is an English folk singer-songwriter. Lowe is known primarily for his compositions dealing with daily life in North-East England, particularly in his hometown of Easington Colliery. He performs both as a solo artist and with his backing band, The Bad Pennies. Lowe was born into a coal mining family with Irish roots, and raised in County Durham, England, where he grew up witnessing the decline of the coal-mining industry that had defined the region's economic profile for generations.
Kate Rusby is one of the most popular young folk singers of traditional English folk songs. She was at the centre of the folk revival in the 1990s which occurred with the coming of age of the children of those who were part of the 60s folk revival. Rusby first came to the attention of the folk scene through her duets with Kathryn Roberts, which lead to her becoming a founding member of the group Equation, which has included Seth Lakeman and Cara Dillon.
He is currently a member of Bellowhead. He plays bouzouki, guitar, mandolin, and tenor banjo.
In the early 1970s the pioneering folk band Oak disbanded, but the nucleus of that band went on to form the Old Swan Band, the name originating from music sessions held in the Old Swan pub in Cheltenham. They became key players in the so-called English Country Music Revival, championing tunes mainly from the English tradition, and influencing a whole generation of folk music performers. They played at barn dances and festivals throughout the seventies and eighties, undergoing a number of personnel changes, and still perform today under the snappier name "Old Swan".
Martin Carthy (born May 21, 1941) is an English folk singer and guitarist who has remained one of the most influential figures in British traditional music, inspiring contemporaries such as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon and later artists such as Richard Thompson since he emerged as a young musician in the early days of the folk revival. He was born in Hatfield and grew up in Hampstead, London. After training as an actor he sang in coffee bars.

Martha Tilston is a singer-songwriter, formerly of acoustic duo Mouse, and currently based in Brighton, England.
She is the daughter of acclaimed songwriter Steve Tilston, and has been writing songs from an early age. Her solo debut, 'Rolling', was self released in 2003, and 'Bimbling' followed in 2004. The following year she assembled The Woods, who include members of Semble, to record her free downloadable album 'Ropeswing'. 2006 saw a full UK tour and the release of the album 'Of Milkmaids And Architects'.
