Anggun

Anggun (born Anggun Cipta Sasmi on April 29, 1974 in Jakarta, Indonesia) is an Indonesian singer/songwriter. She started singing in 1986. Her father, Darto Singo, was a famous singer and producer in Indonesia and Anggun decided to follow in her father's footsteps. At the tender age of 7 years she recorded her first album with children's song. At 12, after becoming interested in rock music, she recorded her second heavily rock influenced album, "Dunia Aku Punya", that in the indonesian language mean "World of mine".

A S American-British band based out of Edinburgh. The singer, Valentina Montoya Martinez, is the daughter of a Chilean exile and the percussionist, Gerardo Ballesteros is from Argentina. The two other members - guitarist David Russell and double bass player May Halyburton are both from Scotland. The band specialises in Nueva Cancion & canto neuvo - folk songs in Spanish that became popular during the 1960s associated with socialism and the struggle against the rise of dictators such as Pinochet.

There are two artists that use the name Jaymay. 1) Jamie Seerman and 2) JayMay a Christian rapper. 1. Jamie Seerman is an American folk singer-songwriter from New York. She performs under the name Jaymay. She was raised on Long Island and in 2003, unable to find a job in book publishing, Jaymay began playing open mics. Her major musical influence is Bob Dylan. She has been described by the BBC as "darling of the New York 'Anti-Folk' scene", and by the New York Times as a "big name for the indie universe".
