Beef

There are at least five bands named Beef:
a Dutch one, a Spanish one, an English one and one from Japan. 1)The dutch one:
They were already veterans in different genres of the Dutch music scene when they joined forces in 1999 to become an All Star Dutch Reggae Massive: Beef! Their early recordings, released only on cassettes (the 1.1Gr.Fm Sessions), have become collector items. Same goes for the 10 inch EP release “Babylon by Beef” (Drunken Maria/1999).

The Beatdown

You’ve known them as hardworking road warriors with an unyielding passion for reggae and Jamaican music. The One Night Band is now on a break, but this hasn’t stopped singer/guitarist Alex Giguere from keeping busy. He has taken this opportunity to initiate a more personal and introspective project. Joining forces with ONB bass player Pascal Lesieur, ex-drummer Nicolas Fizzano and longtime friend Jovanny Savoie, Giguere introduces The Beatdown.

Apples For Everyone

Apples For Everyone are a London based folk punk band whose sound takes the eclecticism of Arcade Fire, the passion of Bright Eyes and the playful melodic strength of Madness. Band influences range from indie to ska, blues to folk, motown to trance. Unwilling to succumb to the standard four-piece indie set up, instruments played include trumpet, violin, flute and bagpipes. Their 14 members occupy the stage, swapping instruments and dancing amongst the audience. No topic is out of bounds for the group’s 7 songwriters; love, sex, death and plate tectonics are all given airtime.

Bob Andy

Bob Andy, great Jamaican reggae artist, had a long story in Jamaican roots reggae "off main streem". Appreciated for his simplicity and great backup sound, Keith Anderson (alias Bob Anderson) became a star in Jamaica in early 1966 when he was singing with the Paragons that he founded, and later joined by Jon Holt. He achieved his popularity in Europe in 1970 collaborating with Marcia Griffith. (Source: Skonvolt Carona)
